After the conclusion of the PW Shanghai Major 2024 Americas and Asia RMRs last week, the EU matches have now begun. This is where we’ll see the best CS2 teams look to lock in for a chance to reach the biggest CS2 tournament of 2024.
We’re two days into the EU RMRs for the PW Shanghai Major 2024, and teams have already started to qualify and be eliminated. Let’s take a look at what has happened so far.
MOUZ and Vitality lock in Major spots

MOUZ and Vitality have avoided any hiccups by securing their spots at the PW Shanghai Major 2024 at the first possible opportunity. These teams faced NAVI and FaZe respectively in the 2:0 bracket, so they’ll be happy to have beaten some of the best as they stormed to a 3:0 run to the Major.
Realistically, both of these teams were always going to make it to the Major. It’s just good to see them do it so emphatically, with huge performances from anchors Jimpphat and mezii for both.
The 2:1 Bracket is heating up

With FaZe and NAVI‘s losses, the 2:1 bracket is heating up quite nicely at the PW Shanghai Major 2024 EU RMRs. Even just a look at some of the names involved – NAVI, FaZe, Cloud9, Fnatic, and SAW, shows this is going to be a spicy set of matchups.
NAVI and FaZe have managed to avoid each other, but we’ll still see these two take on SAW and Fnatic respectively. There are definite favorites in these matches, but SAW and Fnatic certainly have the quality to pull off an upset on their best days. Cloud9 vs. SINNERS should also be fun, as oskar looks to attend his first Major since StarLadder Berlin 2019.
Falcons on the verge of elimination

After missing the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, this Falcons lineup needed to redeem itself at the PW Shanghai Major 2024 EU RMR. They can still do that, but it’s really not looking good. Today, Falcons were faced with a layup match against a SAW team that haven’t looked like themselves here. Falcons still managed to lose 13:5, with all players on the roster going negative, dropping to the 1:2 bracket in the process – one match away from elimination.
It’s well-publicized that this Major will be the last outing of this Falcons team. It would be befitting of the previous 12 months for it to end crashing out of the Major RMR in such a disastrous fashion. They now have a few games to secure a spot at the PW Shanghai Major 2024, and it all starts tomorrow against XXXXXX.
