Luna Moth Location in Fields of Mistria

Luna Moth Location in Fields of Mistria

Fields of Mistria offers a variety of gameplay mechanics for its players from fishing to insect collecting. Much like fish and forage items, the appearance of insects in Fields of Mistria is influenced by the season and the time of day. This can make bug gathering tedious and frustrating if you’ve missed the appropriate season. You’ll likely find common insects such as caterpillars and ants just about anywhere. However, rare species such as the Luna Moth, will require patience. The Luna Moth is part of the Spring Insect Set, so you’ll need to get it if you’re filling out the Insects Wing at the museum.

How to Get Luna Moth

Tips for Catching Luna Moth

You can catch Luna Moths in Spring during nighttime. In Fields of Mistria, nighttime starts at 8:00pm. If you’re only focused on getting the Luna Moth, then you can speed up time by using the Mill to fast-forward to 8pm. Search for the Luna Moth at your farm or in The Western Ruins. If you don’t see any, then enter your house (farm)/leave the area (ruins), then return to the farm/ruins to refresh the area. The Luna Moth has light green wings and a yellow body, meaning it may blend in with the surroundings if you’re not looking close enough. Fortunately, you can adjust the In-Game Screen Display to make your search easier.

You may want to wait for the Luna Moth in Year 2. During Year 1, you’ll be busy setting up your barn and doing story quests to unlock features around town, such as upgrading the store. By Year 2, you should be more familiar with
Mistria
and have more time to work on collections.

How to Set In-Game Screen Display

fields of mistria in game scale

You’ll want to set your In-Game Screen to 1x, so here’s how to do just that:

  1. Open the menu (use M-key) and selecting the Settings/Gear tab.
  2. Choose the In-Game Display option (default should be 3x), and change it to 1x.

While in 1x mode, you’ll be able to see more of your surroundings. However, keep in mind that as a result of zooming out, the character sprites will be smaller. Fortunately, the Luna Moth flies back and forth, so you should still be able to find it. If you’re struggling with 1x view, then you can switch it to 2x instead. Playing outside 3x mode means you won’t have to physically run to every corner of the landmark to see what’s there. When you’ve caught the Luna Moth, you can adjust your settings back to normal.

How to Donate

fields of mistria spring insect set

The Luna Moth can be donated to the Museum in The Narrows. It’s part of the Spring Insect Set along with the Butterfly, Caterpillar, Roly Poly, and Ladybug. Depending on how many wings you’ve completed, the rewards for donating the entire Spring Insect Set will vary. Alternatively, you can sell the Luna Moth for 20 Tesserae, but given its rarity, this is not recommended. You can give the Luna Moth as a gift, but it’s considered a universally disliked gift by everyone (except Luc), meaning you won’t be getting any affection points.
