As you progress through the game, you’re bound to increase the population of your villages, which will, in turn, increase the demands of your villagers. If you fail to meet those demands, these villagers will eventually leave your village to settle somewhere else. But, there are several ways to stop that from happening and to make your villages flourish.

How To Stop Villagers From Leaving In Sengoku Dynasty

The image shows that the player has received a notification that several villagers have left the dynasty in Sengoku Dynasty.

If the satisfaction level of your villagers drops below 2.00, it is likely that they will attempt to leave the village and settle somewhere else. When that happens, the game will give you a notification, indicating the number of villagers that are prone to leaving.

Unhappy villagers won’t wait for a season change to leave your village. They will do so any day if their satisfaction drops too low.

You can also check which villagers are prone to leaving by checking the Population tab in the Dynasty menu. To prevent the population reductions, you will need to increase the satisfaction level of your population by increasing the production of your villages.

The higher the population, the more difficult it will be to increase their satisfaction level. So, you should try to settle more villages to divide the population, which will also decrease their needs drastically.

If you head over to the Dynasty menu, you will see several parameters at the bottom of the screen, showing you the consumption and production of the village. If the consumption is higher than the production, then the satisfaction level of your villagers will continue to deteriorate.

The image shows the several parameters that affect your population in Sengoku Dynasty.

There are different ways to deal with each type of parameter, and as your population and Dynasty level increase, some new parameters will be unlocked, such as spirituality and luxury.

How To Increase Meal Production

If you’re low on meal production, the best way to deal with this issue is by building a kitchen and assigning a cook to it. Cooked food is incredibly efficient at raising your meal production. You can also set up small farms to grow food.

If you’re having trouble finding appropriate seed bags or are dealing with winter, you can also buy food from traders to fulfill the needs of your villagers.

How To Increase Heating Production

Heating requires firewood and sticks. If you’re low on heating production, you can set up woodworker shops to increase the production of firewood or get foragers to collect sticks.

You can increase the efficiency of woodworker shops by placing another carpentry station in the same building. You will have to assign a new worker to it, but it is still better than building another woodworker’s shop.

You can also set up a charcoal kiln to produce charcoal, which can efficiently raise your heating production. But, a charcoal kiln also requires firewood to turn into charcoal, so you’ll still need a lot of it.

How To Increase Beverage Production

You can easily increase beverage production by setting up wells in your village. A simple or advanced well can drastically boost your beverage production. Note that you don’t necessarily have to build a beverage storage to collect water from wells.

You can also craft sake, which is the most efficient way to increase beverage production in your village. However, sake requires you to build a brewery, which can be a significant investment on its own.

How To Increase Maintenance Production

Maintenance depends on producing various items. You can get woodworkers to craft planks, and miners to mine clay to increase maintenance production. However, mining clay is region-dependent, so you will have to focus on other methods if your village is in a region where clay isn’t available as a regional good.

You can also assign a worker to a stonemason’s station at a miner’s shop and make them craft chiseled stones. Getting a worker to craft chiseled stones requires you to have chisels in your inventory or storage, which can be crafted at a blacksmith’s shop.

How To Increase Health Production

The image shows several craftsmen working on workshop tables in Sengoku Dynasty.

Health production requires you to build a kitchen or a forager’s hut. You need to assign a cook to the herbalist station in a forager’s hut or get the cook in the kitchen to increase the production of beverages, such as amazake or tea.

The easiest way to increase health production is by assigning your foragers to collect herbs, such as the spider lily, and then assigning the herbalist to craft a warming drink that requires water and three herbs. However, you will have to purchase the recipe for a warming drink first, before you’re able to assign your worker to make it for you.

How To Increase Security Production

Security production can be increased by making guard towers and assigning a guard to them. You will also have to set one of the workers in the workshop or in the blacksmith’s shop to craft weapons, as the guard will require a weapon to function properly.

You can place multiple guard towers to increase security, but this is one of the parameters that you won’t have to worry much about, because the security requirements aren’t usually that high and two or three guard towers are usually enough to fulfill the demands of your villagers.

How To Increase Spiritual Production

Spiritual production is unlocked after you’ve gathered at least 36 villagers. Spiritual production depends on the religious needs of your villagers and requires you to either craft religious items, or shrines to deal with the villagers’ requirements.

An easy way to increase spiritual production is by building a medium shrine and assigning a worker as a priest to it. However, note that building a medium shrine requires premium deciduous logs and planks, which can be found near Aratani village.

You can also set up stonemasons to craft statues, which increase the spiritual production, but you will have to unlock the recipes of these statues first. Furthermore, you can also have your blacksmith craft religious items, such as an incense burner, a small gong, or a standing bell to increase the efficiency of spiritual production.

How To Increase Luxury Production

The image shows a small paper drying rack in a papermaker's building in Sengoku Dynasty.

Luxury production is unlocked after you’ve increased your population to 42. The easy way to increase your luxury production is by setting up a tailor’s shop and having them craft clothes. You could also set up a papermaker building to craft paper, which will also increase luxury production.

Furthermore, ice is also considered a luxury, so if you can gather enough in winter, and store it in an ice storage, you’ll have enough luxury goods to last for a few seasons.

If you have any luxury goods stored in your dynasty storage that you have other plans for, it’s best to take them out before you hit the 42 population mark, because the villagers will start using them without your consent right away.

These are all the basic ways to increase certain types of production to maintain the satisfaction level of your villagers. If you’re lacking anything and don’t have the resources for it, you can also set up a trading post and buy the required products from merchants to fulfill the needs of your villagers.
