Potatoes cannot be grown the same way as other basic crops, and you need to purchase some specialized equipment before you can get to work.

You need a Medium Tractor, as the default Tractors you own cannot pull the ROPA Keiler 2 RK22 Harvester required for gathering your fully-grown Potatoes. You also need specialized planters and the GL 420 is the best one you can get at a good price.

You can purchase the equipment from the vehicle shop in the town.

A lot of these items may be pricey, so we recommend growing potatoes when you have accustomed yourself more to the gameplay and got a steady income stream set up.

How To Grow Potatoes

The green tractor is dragging the planter which is carrying Potatoes in Farming Simulator 25.

Once you have everything ready, growing potatoes will be an easy task. Attach your default Cultivator to a tractor and start preparing the soil.

Once it’s ready, take your tractor and attach the loaded potato planter to it, take it into the fields and start planting your potatoes. Do not forget to lower your equipment otherwise, it will not work on the land.

You will now have to wait a couple of months until your Potatoes are ready for harvesting. Normally, Potatoes can only be planted in March and April, and they become ready to harvest by August.

To make things easier, you can disable the seasonal crop options in the game settings.

Once they are ready to harvest, it’s time to equip your Harvester, go into the fields and grab all potatoes which you have grown. The Harvester will automatically remove Foliage and harvest Potatoes.

Once they are stored inside your vehicle, you can unload them into your vehicle by selecting Move Bunker Up and then Unload Here.

Make sure that your trailer is directly below the bunker, otherwise your Potatoes will fall on the ground instead, and you will need a Loader to pick them up.

How To Sell Potatoes

The price chart for Potatoes is shown in Farming Simulator 25.

The potatoes that you have grown can be sold to the shops in town. If you open the main menu, and then the prices tab, you can check the amount that different shops are offering, to ensure a higher profit you should visit the shop which pays you the most.

You will also spot a price chart below, which shows you the detailed rates for any crop in different months. So you should sell Potatoes in a month where you will turn out the most profit.

You cannot store your Potatoes in your silo, but you can keep drop them on the ground anywhere, and pick them up later when you are ready to sell them.
