Where To Find Boars in Red Dead Redemption

To achieve Master Hunter Challenge Rank 4, Marston needs to collect five Boar Skins. Boars can be found in different locations, but are more common in forested areas and swamps. You can find Boars in the following locations in Red Dead Redemption:

Southeastern West Elizabeth: This region, particularly around Blackwater and Tall Trees, is one of the best places to find boars. You can find plenty of Boars around 7:30-8:00 PM near the south of Blackwater.
Manzanita Post: The best time to look for boars in this area is early morning, around 6:00-7:30 AM.
Eastern New Austin: The plains in this region are a good place to find boars, especially in the hills far north of the MacFarlane Ranch. It’s best to look for them early in the day.
Stillwater Creek: This area is located southwest of Thieves’ Landing. Although boars are harder to find here, you can use Bait to spawn several of them around 9 PM.

Watch out for other predators, such as wolves and bears. These animals can smell the fresh kills and come in packs to investigate.

Tips For Hunting Boars in Red Dead Redemption

Since Boars can be dangerous, you need to approach them carefully, especially when dealing with groups. Boars won’t retreat or maintain a safe distance during attacks. Instead, they charge directly at the player, delivering multiple, powerful blows. You can hide in nearby bushes and use silent weapons like throwing knives to kill a Boar without alerting others.

If you’re using bait to attract multiple boars, consider using a Sawed-Off Shotgun to defend yourself. For more precise attacks, use a shotgun or rifle to take down boars effectively. Moreover, approaching boars from a vehicle, such as a wagon or a stagecoach, can deter boar attacks, causing them to run away instead of charging at you.
