The quest centers on tracking down Governor Ivenci, but not before battling through several waves of Antaam forces. It’s a straightforward mission that involves fighting your way to a climactic mini-boss encounter.
A Time To Kill Walkthrough
After completing the For the Love of Treviso side quest, you get A Time To Kill side quest, which reveals that Governor Ivenci has been the bad guy for a long time and the Butcher was just a pawn in a bigger scheme.
Finding Ivenci
You will start the quest by reaching Treviso via the Eluvian and then interacting with Viago at the Cantori Diamond, the hub area of the Crows.
The first step in A Time To Kill side quest involves finding Governor Ivenci. He can be found in the Antaam Garrison, which you will be able to reach after navigating through the Crow’s Road Rooftops area.
To reach Ivenci, exit the Cantori Diamond via the stairs and then take the zipline on the lift side. Now jump to another rooftop and take another left, and you will find another zipline right in front of you.
You can see the Antaam Garrison from this rooftop, but to reach it, you will need to descend.
Drop from the rooftop using the ladder or by jumping down and then make another jump to reach the next building.
This will allow you to reach the Antaam Garrison, and you will need to fight the first wave of Antaam forces in the hallway.
Jacobus Joins
During the choice of saving Minrathous or Treviso, if you have saved Treviso, you will find Jacobus here, ready to help you during the A Time To Kill side quest. Jacobus will inform Rook that Ivenci has hidden all the qamek behind the locked gates past the courtyard.
When you approach the locked gate, a second wave of Antaam forces will attack you, including melee and sniper units. With Jacobus assisting you during the A Time To Kill side quest and if you have Lucanis in the party, Ivenci will comment that he is flattered that the Crows have sent two of their best to stop him.
Confronting And Defeating Ivenci
After clearing out all the Antaam forces in the courtyard, the locked gate will open automatically. As you proceed further inside, you’ll notice the area is shrouded in a green fog, signalling that the qamek has been released.
The third wave of Antaam forces will now appear, determined to stop you from reaching Ivenci. This wave typically consists of three melee units, with two shielded units joining the fight after you’ve defeated a few enemies.
Once you’ve dealt with them all, a horned brute will be summoned to the area. This enemy specializes in devastating smash attacks and a powerful rush charge.
After defeating the brute, Rayan Ivenci will finally show up for the confrontation. Ivenci wields a staff and begins the fight by summoning two clones, each with its own health bar.
His primary attacks include a few ranged spells and an explosive AoE spell that activates if you get too close. The AoE is marked by a red circle on the ground around where Ivenci is standing, giving you time to dodge.
Rook and two companions can easily overpower Ivenci, as he is not a particularly challenging mini-boss. Once his shield bar is withered, the fight becomes much simpler. Focus on using Rook’s melee attacks while ordering your companions to target Ivenci. This combined assault will prevent him from responding effectively, allowing you to deal significant damage.
After defeating Ivenci, return to Viago and Teia at the Cantori Diamond to complete the A Time to Kill side quest.
A Time To Kill Rewards
Completing the A Time To Kill side quest will give you the following rewards:
- 3,000 XP
- Orchestator’s Long Coat Light Armor Rarity Increase
- Five Fade-Touched Crystals
- 500 Gold
- 350 Antivan Crows Strength
