Is It Wrong To Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon’s last episode focused on Bell’s assimilation into the Freya Familia. This week’s episode of DanMachi picks up on these events, continuing Freya’s anarchic rule over the Labyrinth City of Orario. To ensure none escape her charm magic, Freya has enacted a new strategy to lure out the remnants of those unaffected by her charm.

On the other hand, Hestia remains desperate to find allies who can help her dispel Freya’s charm over Orario. With Asfi and Ryu as the last remaining characters unaffected, it’s only a matter of time before they band together to finally take down the Freya Familia’s rule over the city.

Freya’s Attempts to Manipulate Bell

Distorting Bell’s Memories is the Key to Breaking Him

Freya may have charmed the entire city of Orario with her inescapable charm, yet Bell Cranel still remains immune due to his Liaris Freese skill. Since her charm is ineffective against Bell, Freya has resorted to psychological tactics to break Bell’s mental state, which would end up forcing him to submit to her will. Bell’s love for Ais is the source of Liaris Freese’s power, meaning his memories are the sole barrier between him and Freya’s charm.

If Freya were to force Bell to accept that his memories are a result of a curse, Liaris Freese’s charm immunity would weaken significantly, subsequently giving Freya the opportunity to finally charm Bell. However, achieving such a feat is no simple task, as Bell refuses to let go of his distorted memories with the Hestia Familia. Bell is on the verge of accepting his memories to be nothing more than a curse. However, it’s likely that he would be saved by Hestia before Freya can truly trap him in her manipulative lies.

The Last Remaining Defense

More Characters Unaffected by the Charm Have Been Revealed

Currently, the entire city of Orario lies under Freya’s charm. However, a few characters have slipped through the cracks, which deems them the last line of defense against Freya’s anarchy. Initially, only Hestia and Bell were the only known characters safe from Freya’s spell. A few more characters have now been confirmed to be safe from Freya’s charm, subsequently increasing the resistance against Freya’s rule.

We’ll return to Orario once we’re fully prepared.

Asfi Andromeda and Ryu Lion have been confirmed to be safe from the charm, only due to Hermes’ quick-witted decision of ordering Asfi to fly outside Orario before Freya could cast her charm. Anya, one of the waitresses at the Hostess of Fertility, has also been confirmed to be safe. However, her situation is rather unique, as she was spared from Freya’s brainwashing due to her relationship with Allen Fromel, one of the Freya Familia’s high-ranking adventurers.

Since Anya is Allen Fromel’s brother, he asked Freya to spare her from her charm. However, the reason behind this peculiar request is still unclear, especially since the two characters have an estranged relationship. Anya was also used as a pawn in Freya’s own plan to lure out Ryu, since she knew that Ryu would show herself to save Anya.

Hestia’s Plight to Find Allies

The Goddess Of Hearth Is In Search for Potential Allies

Since Hestia believes that she is the only one unaffected by Freya’s charm magic, she is in search of other potential allies who could aid her in toppling Freya’s reign. Her first option was Ouranos, since she was aware that his altar would protect him from Freya’s power. However, she was gravely mistaken, as Ouranus refused to help Hestia in reclaiming Orario. While Ouranos could have concocted a plan together with Hestia to overthrow Freya, he knew that Fels would betray him and report Hestia’s status to the goddess.

There are no safe spaces left in Orario that are free from her “eyes” and “ears”.

While Hestia is forced to return without finding any allies for now, it won’t be long before she is contacted by Asfi Andromeda. Moreover, Anya and Mama Mia are two other potential allies for her, since it’s clear that the latter is not on board with Freya’s obsessive antics. Since Mama Mia was initially a member of the Freya Familia, she is also unaffected by Freya’s charm, though this status could change if she were to go against her goddess’ orders.

While the situation seems rather grim for Hestia, she still has one trump card — Hermes. The contents of the letter that Hermes gave her before being charmed still remains unknown. It’s possible that Hestia could use the letter to break Hermes out of Freya’s spell, in-turn gaining another ally and a god who could possibly free Orario from Freya’s clutches. However, freeing Hermes won’t be an easy task, though it’s likely that Asfi Andromeda will also play a role in breaking his charm.
