Every Feature Confirmed for Rogue Prince of Persia’s November 2024 Update

The Rogue Prince of Persia first hit Steam early access on May 27 of this year. Upon launch, the roguelike entry showed a lot of promise but felt very lacking in content, with its initial playable build featuring just two bosses, six biomes, and only a handful of weapons and medallions.

But The Rogue Prince of Persia has come a long way since then. The past six months have brought a bevy of new enemies to the game, along with new forms of meta progression, some new biomes, a reworked medallion system, and a wealth of performance fixes and technical upgrades. The Rogue Prince of Persia is finally starting to become the polished, fast-paced roguelike experience fans knew it could be, and its upcoming November 21 update is the next major piece of the puzzle.

Everything Coming With The Rogue Prince of Persia’s November 2024 Update

Launching on November 21, 2024, The Rogue Prince of Persia‘s next major update will introduce players to the game’s long-awaited Second Act, which will bring with it the following new features:

  • More Biomes
  • More Bosses
  • New Enemies
  • A New Story Act
  • Narrative polish for Story Act 1
  • Quality-of-life improvements like multiple save slots
  • German, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish localization

While more biomes and enemies are key highlights of The Rogue Prince of Persia‘s Second Act update, it’s the new story content and bosses that are sure to excite long-time fans the most. Rogue Prince of Persia‘s first two bosses were incredibly strong, testing the player’s prowess with not just the game’s combat, but its parkour and platforming mechanics as well. Fans are in for a treat if the update’s new bosses are able to capture the magic of their predecessors.

According to The Rogue Prince of Persia‘s latest blog post on the game’s Steam page, this Second Act update will also mark the point where developer Evil Empire has doubled the amount of content in the game since its May launch.

The Rogue Prince of Persia is Getting a Visual Overhaul

One of the biggest changes coming with The Rogue Prince of Persia‘s November 21 update is the game’s tweaked art style and improved visuals. As showcased in the update’s recent teaser trailer, the Second Act will bring about some color palette changes, turning Rogue Prince of Persia‘s bright blue, yellow, and purple environments to a much darker shade. And to better fit this slightly darker tone, the Prince himself is no longer purple.

Detailing has also been improved dramatically across the board in this update. Character models now have much-improved shading, giving the Prince and his enemies far more detail and texture on their clothing and skin. Biome backgrounds have also been given a significant visual overhaul, with many areas like the aqueduct now showing the severity of the ongoing Hun invasion much more clearly, depicting burning battlements and devastated buildings.

These visual changes seem like they could go a long way in giving The Rogue Prince of Persia‘s story and gameplay a higher-stakes tone, which will likely pair well with the game’s faster pace.
