Co-Op Gas Station Builder ‘Servonauts’ Shares New Screenshots [EXCLUSIVE]

Game Rant can exclusively share new gameplay screenshots from Servonauts, a wacky gas station builder with a sci-fi twist and an Aussie theme. The quirky game is planned to reach the Nintendo Switch and PC in late November 2024.

Servonauts is the debut title from Brisbane, Australia-based studio MAXART Games. It’s touted as an absurd couch co-op experience that puts players in the shoes of space gas station attendants who need to juggle between servicing impatient customers and expanding their colorful facilities—ideally without blowing anything up. The game will be distributed by Polish indie publisher Untold Tales.

Ahead of the game’s release, Untold Tales shared some new Servonauts screenshots, which Game Rant can exclusively reveal. The images depict a handful of otherworldly environments in which players will be asked to run their space gas stations. The screenshots also serve to illustrate how these facilities will get quite complex over time, as will the game’s challenges. Anyone intrigued by the prospect of fuel refinement, pipeline construction, and mayhem management can already experience this formula first-hand by downloading the Servonauts demo via Steam.

Servonauts Releases November 21

The game itself is scheduled for release on Thursday, November 21. Aside from PC, Servonauts will also be available on the Nintendo Switch from day one. Although it’s already listed on the eShop as of mid-November 2024, its demo has so far only been released on Steam. Its PC version will also have a unique selling point in the form of support for Steam Remote Play Together, allowing up to four people to enjoy Servonauts multiplayer sessions with just one copy of the game.

While primarily envisioned as a couch co-op experience, Servonauts will also be playable solo. Its core gameplay loop will revolve around refining fuel by building an intricate system of pipes and machines, then using the results to refuel a never-ending influx of space vehicles. Supplying the wrong fuel to a machine risks violent explosions, making it crucial to stay attentive and collaborate with friends on optimizing logistics to achieve a perfect three-star score on each level. Every stage promises to offer some unique mechanics and hazards that will attempt to shake things up and keep players on their toes.

In spite of Servonauts‘ sci-fi setting, Untold Games describes the upcoming title as “Aussie-themed.” This is already evident from its very name, which is derived from “servo,” Australian slang for a gas station. While Servonauts‘ Steam price has yet to be confirmed, its eShop listing suggests that Nintendo Switch owners will be able to buy it for $14.99.
