Best PU-21 loadout in Warzone

The PU-21 stands out as the premier LMG in Black Ops 6, and its efficiency is poised to carry over seamlessly into Warzone’s battle royale in Season 1.

While the Black Ops 6 meta has largely centered around the powerful ARs and SMGs, it remains flexible, and this openness is expected to continue into the early stages of Warzone’s integration. The PU-21, however, defies the typical LMG mold. Its lightweight mobility and impressive damage output allow it to function more like an assault rifle, making it a versatile and powerful weapon.

With the right setup, the PU-21 can easily become your go-to choice for Warzone, packing the firepower and agility needed to compete with the game’s top-tier options. This loadout ensures you’re equipped to make the most of this exceptional LMG.

Best PU-21 loadout

  • Optic: Kepler Red Dot
  • Muzzle: Ported Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Fast Mag I
  • Rear Grip: Commando Grip
  • Stock: Heavy Stock
  • Laser: None
  • Fire Mods: Recoil Springs

The integration of Black Ops 6 into Warzone has brought a significant upgrade in the form of the Gunfighter Wildcard. With this addition, you can equip up to eight attachments on your weapons – and for the PU-21, this is essential to unlocking its full potential.

For our optic, we’ve opted for the Kepler Red Dot. While higher magnification optics are often used for long-range weapons, the PU-21 isn’t designed for such engagements. A low-magnification option like the Kepler Red Dot keeps it mobile and highly effective at short to medium ranges without sacrificing versatility.

Next, we focus on recoil and accuracy improvements. The Ported Compensator reduces vertical recoil and controls first-shot recoil, making it easier to land consecutive hits. The Vertical Foregrip minimizes horizontal recoil, and the Recoil Springs fire mod adds an extra layer of control by improving both horizontal and vertical recoil.

For added range and handling, the Reinforced Barrel is a must-have, significantly boosting damage range and bullet velocity, ensuring the PU-21 remains effective at extended distances. The Commando Grip enhances ADS and Sprint-to-Fire speeds, improving mobility for fast-paced encounters. Meanwhile, the Fast Mag I further boosts reload speed and handling but slightly reduces the magazine capacity from 60 to 45 rounds, so use it strategically based on your needs.

To round out the loadout, we include the Heavy Stock. While not mandatory, it provides valuable Flinch Resistance, which can be crucial during intense gunfights, allowing you to maintain accuracy under pressure.

With this setup, the PU-21 becomes a highly versatile and reliable weapon, excelling in short to medium-range combat and holding its own in most Warzone scenarios.

Perks, Wildcard, and Equipment

  • Perk 1: Survivor
  • Perk 2: Quartermaster
  • Perk 3: Tempered
  • Wildcard: Gunfighter
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical Equipment: Smoke Grenade

The perk system in Warzone has shifted significantly, especially since Overkill is no longer a default inclusion. If you want to carry two primary weapons, you’ll need to use the Overkill wildcard. While this is a solid option, we’ve chosen the Gunfighter wildcard instead, allowing you to equip up to eight attachments on your weapon.

For Perk 1, we’ve selected Survivor. This perk speeds up health regeneration and reduces the time it takes to be revived when downed. In high-pressure fights, this can be the deciding factor between turning the tide or losing a critical engagement.

In the Perk 2 slot, we’ve opted for Quartermaster. Its ability to recharge equipment over time ensures you’ll always have access to essential tools like Semtex and Stun Grenades. However, other strong choices include Bomb Squad for explosive resistance, Sprinter for enhanced mobility, or Quick Fix for immediate health regeneration after a kill.

For Perk 3, we recommend Tempered. With the removal of backpacks in the Black Ops 6 integration, stacking armor plates is no longer an option, making efficient use of them more important than ever. Tempered lets you fully armor with just two plates, saving time and resources. While Ghost remains a strong contender for staying off UAVs, Tempered better suits the current gameplay dynamics.

For equipment, the meta choices remain consistent: Semtex for quick and reliable explosive damage and Smoke Grenades for providing cover when repositioning, reviving teammates, or crossing open areas.

This setup is designed to maximize survivability, utility, and versatility, ensuring you’re well-prepared for Warzone’s ever-evolving challenges.

How to unlock the PU-21

Unlocking the PU-21 couldn’t be simpler, as it’s available by default once you hit Level 4 and gain access to Custom Classes.

This means there’s no need for a lengthy grind to unlock it – you can equip the PU-21 right away and start dominating your opponents with its firepower.

Best alternative weapon

If the PU-21 isn’t quite the right fit for your playstyle, there are several solid alternatives to consider. For players who prefer a weapon with steadier handling and better performance at longer ranges, the XMG is an excellent choice. This LMG offers a slower rate of fire and more manageable recoil, making it ideal for precise, sustained engagements.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for an assault rifle that packs a punch, the Model L is a fantastic option. With its high damage output and versatility, it’s well-suited for players who want a reliable weapon that excels in various combat scenarios.
