A good loadout can help things massively, however, so we’ve put together our best LR 7.62 so you can take the ranged game to your opponents.
While ARs and SMGs may be running amok in Black Ops 6, there’s always that perfect one-shot itch to scratch. This is where the LR 7.62 comes in, and with our loadout – one of the best Black Ops 6 loadouts all-told – you can dominate any match the multiplayer game throws at you.
How to unlock the LR 7.62 in Black Ops 6
The LR 7.62 is unlocked in Black Ops 6 by reaching player level 49. As one of the last weapons you’ll unlock in a Prestige, it’s a worthy candidate for one of your permanent unlock tokens (more on those in our Black Ops 6 Prestige guide).

The LR 7.62, like many sniper rifles, boasts pinpoint accuracy out of the box – the real issue is how long it takes for the weapon to settle and for you to get your target in your sights. The Lightweight Handguard massively reduces the amount of sway you get after taking a shot, while the Quickdraw Grip gets you locked in faster by improving ADS speed.
The Fast Mag II gives you everything you want for a sniper – ADS speed, reload quickness, and reduced sprint-to-fire time. Yes, this comes at the cost of a slightly smaller magazine size, but the LR 7.62 doesn’t take long to reload at all with this setup. The Combat Stock is a great addition thanks to the amount of flinch resistance it offers. Finally, the Rapid Fire mod increases the cycle rate of new rounds being loaded into the chamber, allowing you to unleash shots at a much faster pace.

As a sniper class, creating a safe vantage point and staying hidden are the two keys to your success. Of course, the game would be unbalanced if you became untouchable at the back of the map, so we’ve taken a second primary weapon just in case someone slips through.
Right now we believe there’s no better sniper partner than a good ol’ SMG, and the best Black Ops 6 C9 loadout is a testament to that. To use the C9 you’ll need to take the Overkill Wildcard.
To keep you nice and safe (at least, as safe as you can be), grab yourself the Prox Alarm, Blast Trap, and Spring Mine for all your bunkering needs.
On the perk front, we want to do everything we can to stay hidden, and maintain as much map awareness as possible. Ninja, Forward Intel, and Cold-blooded all help achieve this while unlocking access to Recon. Delightful.

We’re going to be running the LR 7.62 in a sniper support configuration, meaning it’ll be accompanied by an SMG like the C9, PP-919, or Jackal PDW. This also means we won’t have to worry about making the rifle more mobile, letting us focus wholly on landing our shots no matter the range.
First things first, though, we need to up our security by slapping on the Suppressor to keep ourselves safe from popping up on the minimap while firing. Now we’re chilling, let’s start with the range-maxing Reinforced Barrel which not only makes the LR 7.62 shoot further, but with better bullet velocity.
Next up we have the Lightweight Handguard. This handily reduces aiming idle sway dramatically, to the point that you don’t necessarily need to hold your breath to land your shots. Getting flinched by a stray round while you’re trying to polish off a target is incredibly annoying – fortunately, the Combat Stock is here to help. Finally, add even more bullet velocity with the 7.62 NATO Overpressured fire mod and you’re good to go.

As noted above, there is a plenitude of SMGs that’ll make perfect partners for the LR 7.62. We’ve been running the C9 so far, but don’t be afraid to test out the other loadouts linked in this Overkill setup.
Any keen tactician will know obscuring your enemy’s vision is a surefire way to hightail it out of a tricky spot, so we’ve locked in the Smoke Grenade as our chosen Tactical. It also offers up rat potential when it comes to fighting inside it with your silenced SMG of choice. On the Lethal front, the Semtex is our current go-to, but it’s preference.
Perk-side, we’ve gone for Dexterity, Quartermaster, and Ghost. Dexterity is great for keeping your SMG stable as you dive around dramatically, though Veteran will be the natural substitute when it becomes available in the upcoming Hit List event (check out our BO6 events guide for more on that). Veteran not only reduces flinch while ADS’ing, but it also lets you hold your breath for longer among other things.
Next up we have Quartermaster, which will recharge your equipment over time. This is incredibly important for keeping your smoke stocks high, though we’d typically opt for Tracker if you’re planning to use your smoke as an offensive tool as it marks hit enemies. Finally, Ghost is imperative as it keeps you off of UAVs and other targeting tools like Heartbeat Sensors and Proximity Alarms.
Best Black Ops 6 LR 7.62 alternatives
The best Black Ops 6 LR 7.62 alternative is the LW3A1 Frostline. While the SVD is arguably stronger, if you’re after a bolt-action sniper then this is your only other option aside from the LR 7.62 itself. What’s more, the Frostline pumps out similar power and is instantly unlocked at player level one, making it perfectly accessible and a great practice option while you work towards the LR 7.62.
