After years of leaks, Fortnite First-Person mode is officially on the way. Epic Games has confirmed the introduction of the new mode, which will be only available in Creative. Here’s everything we know about it.
Fortnite First-Person Mode: What is the release date?
According to reports, the first-person POV will be limited to Creative, meaning special islands can use it. It will not be part of Battle Royale, remaining separate so that Fortnite can remain true to its third-person origins. The mode is expected to be officially added in-game on December 11. It is currently available as an experimental feature.
Fortnite first-person mode is all set to arrive on December 11.
It remains to be seen what Epic Games will do with this in the long run. Rumors are that eventually, it will be possible in Battle Royale. Some games allow for the transition between first and third-person, so it wouldn’t be unprecedented for Epic Games to do that with Fortnite.
This comes in a recent string of several new game modes. What was once just a Battle Royale and Save the World game has evolved a lot, and much of that has taken place over the last year or so. Chapter 5 brought in Festival, Lego, and Rocket Racing to go along with Battle Royale, Creative, Save the World, and Zero Build.
Now, it looks like Chapter 6 is going to add yet another mode. It is already confirmed to debut the alternative, permanent OG mode. Adding the First-Person game mode will only push the game higher and give players a lot more to do. Much of this would have seemed far-fetched years ago, but it has quickly become Epic Games’ new reality.
Fortnite began in 2017 as a Battle Royale, and it is almost unrecognizable now. Ironically, they’re adding OG to put players back in the game that existed at that time, but as just one option. Epic Games continues to mold its popular shooter into a true sandbox where everything is possible, and first-person mode is a big part of that.
