Genshin Impact will soon have its major update set to launch in the form of the Version 5.2 Update on the 20th of November, 2024 named “Tapestry of Spirit and Flame”. Before the updated version officially begins, HoYoverse will roll out the version 5.2 update, for players to pre-install and enjoy the new content in Genshin Impact without any delays. Version 5.2 will start on the 20th of November, 2024 right after the maintenance is completed.

The pre-installation function will be available for downloading the update across all devices from the 19th of November, 2024 (UTC+8) in server time.
How to get the pre-installation for the new version on PC
The pre-installation option will be available on the game launcher itself. Players can download the new version from there, however, the game launcher will require a small update before that. The game will still be playable, even, when the pre-installation is still in the middle of completion. Players might experience network issues due to such a situation. A strong network connection is recommended or players can choose to wait, to let the update be completed before resuming playing.
Genshin Impact Version 5.2 update: How to download the pre-install package on Android and iOS devices
Android devices
On Android devices, there are two ways to get the update. The first one is by navigating to the Settings menu and then to the other menu. At the bottom of the tab, there will be an option named ‘Pre-Install Resource Package’.
Alternatively, players can also download the update from the login screen, there will be an option for Pre-Install Resource Package at the bottom left corner of the login screen.
iOS devices
iOS users will need to download the update through the App Store. On the Genshin Impact App page, there will be an “Update” option.
Unlike the pre-installation on PC, the game will not be playable on mobile devices, before the update is completed. Therefore, they must start the pre-download after the work is done in the game. Read our other Genshin Impact articles.
