The Reddit user’s 2km egg was received on July 12, 2016, only six days after the game’s release in the U.S. The egg was dated even more by the fact that the player supposedly couldn’t even see what possible Pokemon would hatch from the egg, a feature that wasn’t available at the launch of the game but added later in 2016.
