In all the seasons of VCT Game Changers, we haven’t seen the best team in North America take on the best team in South America. Shopify Rebellion started this tournament as the dominant favorite, following its incredible performance during the qualifying stages. Shopify Rebellion is one of the few organizations with the same team of players that won the VCT Game Changers 2023 world championship.
On the other hand, MIBR GC has been on a steady rise since last year. Last year, they missed out on qualification for the world championship. This year, their standings in the Game Changers 2024 Brazil Series 1, 2, and 3 were 2nd, 1st, and 1st, respectively. This year, MIBR GC looks like it is out for vengeance and to claim the first world championship for its team. During the lower bracket run, they eliminated both teams from VCT Pacific GC and the VCT GC 2022 world champions in G2 Gozen.

In this game, Shopify Rebellion is the favorite to win it all. The reigning world champions haven’t pulled their leg off the gas since VCT GC 2023. Due to keeping the same core of players, the chemistry within the team is one of the best. They have proved this as well by going undefeated during the entire event.
At the same time, ensuring no team can win a map against them is essential. During each of the games that Shopify Rebellion has played, they have won with a scoreline of 2:0. MIBR GC within this tournament has only lost one game against G2 Gozen. In the upper bracket finals during the rematch, MIBR GC dominated them and won with a clean sweep of 3-0. This match-up will likely be the decider match of the series. We might see Shopify Rebellion secure the win with a scoreline of 3-2.

Currently, the game’s meta is quite diverse due to many agents within VALORANT being viable following the recent patches. Agents like Omen and Cypher have become the go-to pick following the changes to the map of Sunset during Patch 9.09.
One agent everyone is worried about is Neon. The only player from both teams to use Neon in this tournament is Ava “florescent” Eugene. This could be the deciding factor during the grand finals, but one must note that MIBR GC has been able to counter Neon quite decisively during this event.
During the match between Shopify Rebellion and G2 Gozen, one notices the dominance that Shopify Rebellion has shown during this event. With Florescent as their primary duelist, the team has easily entered each plant site. This can be seen in the player having a tournament-high 19 first kills during the series.
It must be noted that G2 Gozen were the VCT Game Changers 2022 World Champions. Another player to keep a note of is Alexis “alexis” Guarrasi. The team’s primary initiator has been vital, given their flexibility on multiple agents. During the upper bracket finals, she collected 37 assists, the highest by any player in the series.
For MIBR GC, their star player is none other than their primary duelist, Nicolas “srN” Niederauer. During this tournament, they only used two agents, Jett and Raze. Known for their movement, the 17-year-old has been a gem to watch. It will be interesting to see whether the player selects neon or sticks to their primary agents.
One point is that MIBR GC is more comfortable with a double initiator composition. This helps them immensely to get information on certain chokepoints within the map.
