Tallnecks are one of the most iconic machines in Horizon Zero Dawn as they help clear out the fog of war from the map and make activities visible. Although there are 5 Tallnecks in the main game, players can find a decrepit one called “Frostfigures: Tallneck” in the Frozen Wilds DLC. To make the Tallneck function again, players will need to find replacement parts in the wild.

How to Repair Frostfigures Tallneck in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds
Players can choose to repair the Frostfigures Tallneck during the “For the Werak” quest in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds, as it’s one of the multiple objectives. This is the 3rd major quest in the DLC, right after completing “The Shaman’s Path” quest and meeting up with Ourea.
Repairing the Frostfigures Tallneck will require players to find 3 replacement parts and install them into the Tallneck itself. Once the Tallneck is activated again, you’ll need to override it to complete the objective. Here’s a complete breakdown of how you can repair the Frostfigures Tallneck in Horizon Zero Dawn.
- Reach the deactivated Tallneck in the Frostfigures to start the quest.
- After using your focus on the Tallneck, the location of 3 missing parts will be marked on the map.
- Head towards the first location, which is on the northeast side of the Tallneck, to secure the Array.
- Heading up the cliff, players will find a pack of Daemonic Scrappers grinding the debris. Destroy them all to loot their bodies, which will let you acquire the Array, part of the Tallneck.
- Next, turn around and head toward the second location for the Stabilizer part, which is located in a cave northeast of your current location.
- Reaching the location, players will encounter a Scorcher. They can either dodge its attacks and head into the cave or defeat it.
- After reaching the cave, you’ll have to take down another Daemonic Scrapper to retrieve the Stabilizer part.
- Next, exit the cave and go towards the part to the right leading up to the snowy hills to acquire the final part.
- Reaching the location of the part, you’ll need to take down a flock of Glinthawks, loot their bodies, and retrieve the Actuator part.
- Now, return to the Frostfigures Tallneck and replace all the parts in their designated locations.
- Climb up the Tallneck and activate the Tallneck with your spear.
- Once the Frostfigures Tallneck is up and walking normally, find the nearest cliff to scale and jump onto the Tallneck itself.
- Climb the Tallneck and override it to successfully complete the objective.
Doing this will complete one of the objectives of “For the Werak,” one of the lengthiest side quests in Horizon Zero Dawn, and you’ll need to complete a few more to mark the whole quest as complete.
