You can start The Lost Shipment pretty early in Brighter Shores. However, you won’t be able to complete the quest without the right levels in specific professions. Before you start the quest, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  • Fishing Level: 25+
  • Guard Level: 20+
  • Money: 11 Silver or more

Once these requirements are met, you can start the quest and play it through to the end.

Starting The Lost Shipment Quest in Brighter Shores

The first step of the quest for The Lost Shipment is to talk to Cohen. You’ll find him in Brannof’s Dining Room, located west of Town Square. After speaking to Cohen, he’ll ask you to retrieve the stolen shipment. To track it down, you’ll have to talk to Captain Shirker, who you’ll find on his ship. Cohen also suggests talking to the locale at The Hooked Hand for more clues.

Before leaving Brannof’s Hall, head into Brannof’s Chamber on the left and pick up the Quill and Paper on the desk. They will come in handy later.

The Hooked Hand

The Hooked Hand is an offbeat tavern located at Central Waterfront. But the customers here don’t like the Guards. So before talking to them, make sure you unequip all your armor. Speak to Nelson and choose the dialogue option with the Carthian Plumbatae. After that, ask for the supplier, and the customer will talk about a dangerous man known simply as The Illusion. He will also tell you that the only way to reach him is to send a hidden message with a Fetid Flounder at the Frequently Fresh Fish Stall.

After exhausting the dialogue options at the Hooked Hand, head to the Overgrown Pond location to catch a Fetid Flounder. Head right from Sea Road, and you’ll be there. Now, catching the Fetid Flounder is simple enough with a Fishing Spear. But you’ll have to be at least level 25 at fishing to catch it.

Talking to Captain Shirker

Now that you’ve caught a Fetid Flounder, you’ve completed the first part of The Lost Shipment quest. For the next part, you’ll have to talk to Captain Shirker. He’s on his ship called the Invincible. To get there, go to Central Waterfront and start going all the way to the left. Take the last pier on the right, and you’ll see him near the ship’s helm.

With your gears unequipped, talk to him. Ask him about the lost shipment, and he’ll say he doesn’t want to discuss that. Offer to entertain him, and he’d suggest heading to The Delectable Dab restaurant. Head to The Delectable Dab near the Potion Shop and talk to Captain Shirker.

Don’t start talking about the lost shipment right away. Instead, order your food and pay for the meal. Later, when you ask about the shipment, he will point you to a man in a blue waistcoat with a curly mustache.

Once the conversation ends, head to the town square, and you’ll find a man who matches that description standing in the top right corner. Ask him about the Plumbatae, and he’ll point you to an arms dealer known as The Illusion. Complete the dialogue and learn that The Illusion will only meet you if you have a Monobrow.

Getting a Monobrow is simple enough. Head to Old Street West from the Town Square, talk to the Barber in the now-open Hairdresser and ask for it.

Writing a Secret Message

Now, you’ve covered most of the things you’ll need to complete the quest. Now combine the Quill and Paper you picked up earlier in your Toolbelt to place an Order for Carthian Plumbatae. Combine the message with the Fetid Flounder to create the Secret Message. Head to the Frequently Fresh Fish Stall on Eel Street and use the item with the Fishmonger. Click on a nearby tree and choose the option Lurk Behind.

Tracking Down The Lost Shipment

After lurking behind a tree, a cutscene will play out. When it ends, follow the thief through Willhope Crossing until you reach Monob Row. The thief will go inside a door. Knock on the door and say that you’re Monobrow Sam.

Remove your helmet while doing it; otherwise, the guard won’t let you through.

Once the door opens, head into Thieve’s Den and ask to see the weapons. After the dialogue options end, you’ll get into a combat encounter. After defeating the two enemies, a short cutscene will play. Interact with the crates, and you’ll be rewarded for completing the Lost Shipment quest in Brighter Shores.
