Competition is the aim of the game in Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6. While hitting higher Prestige Ranks and getting all of the Mastery camos is one way to show off against other players, there’s nothing like being in a high rank in Ranked Play when it comes to proving how good you are.

Pick the right operator and look good as you round up tons of kills in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Ranked Play has now come to Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 as part of the Season One update and you need to work hard to qualify for it. There’s also a lot to get your head around when it comes to the rewards and how the ranks work. Thankfully, Treyarch has outlined everything you need to know ahead of it going live on November 21.
How To Qualify For Ranked Play
First of all, you need to qualify for Ranked Play. To do so, you need to earn 50 Wins in Matchmade Multiplayer games. Any wins you’ve had since the launch of Black Ops 6 count towards those 50 wins, so you’ll already have access if you’ve been grinding for the past few weeks.
You also no longer need to have hit level 55 once to qualify.
Ranks And Skill Rating Explained
If you’ve played Ranked in previous Call of Duty games, you’ll be familiar with the ranking system for Black Ops 6. The 1-50 Rank and Skill Division system seen in previous games have been combined.
Your Rank now represents what was previously your Skill Division and Tier. Earn SR and progress through eight Ranks: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Crimson, Iridescent, and Top 250.
You’ll progress through the Ranks by earning SR by winning Ranked Play matches. SR is awarded after each Ranked Play win and the amount earned is determined by your distance away from your projected Rank, your match performance, and the margin of victory. You then lose SR when losing matches.
How To Forfeit
New for Black Ops 6 is the ability to forfeit if your team isn’t doing well. That allows you to not waste time knowing you’re going to lose, letting you jump into your next game quickly.
All teammates must vote for the Forfeit for it to be confirmed. Those matches then count as a standard loss and do not result in SR penalties or suspensions.
You will be able to start the process of a forfeit by entering the options menu when the following happens in each mode.
- Hardpoint: Winning Team reaches 100 Points
- Control: After 1st Round
- Search & Destroy: After 3rd Round
Ranked Rewards
While showing off to your mates is reward enough for a lot of players, you will also earn some rewards that change depending on how well you do and what rank you reach. You will get the following:
Reward Type |

---|---|
Win Challenges |
By winning games, you can get rewards that include the “Ranked Competitor” Skin, Knife Blueprint, a Frag Grenade Skin, a Gunscreen that tracks your Career Ranked Play wins, and more. These can be completed across multiple seasons. |
