Every Zombie Type In Black Ops 6 And How To Beat Them

The Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been one of its most well-received aspects. With round-based mechanics that test your endurance and future planning, the fun truly never ends. The game offers two unique Zombies missions —Liberty Falls and Terminus— each having different objectives, Easter eggs, and a few mission-specific mobs.

Here is how you can activate the song Easter Egg on Terminus in Black Ops 6.

As you progress through the rounds, you’ll get to fight tougher zombies, eventually leading up to Elite Zombies, which put you through mayhem. While the weaker undead are primarily bullet sponges, the tougher mobs have specific weaknesses you can exploit. And, with eight zombie types in the game, mastering each one’s strategy can guarantee you reaching at least Round 30 and getting those sweet Multiplayer camos.

Zombie

Appearance: Liberty Falls And Terminus

The regular undead is the most common enemy type in any and every round in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies. They begin with modest stats but receive incremental buffs with each passing phase, becoming faster, more prolific, and harder to kill.

Although body shots may get the job done, headshots are far more effective, dealing five times the damage and also giving extra points, resulting in more Essence for you to spend on upgrades. Another popular strategy is lining groups of zombies together. This approach reduces gun movement when you’re aiming down sight and lets your favorite lethal equipment kill more in one hit.

Armored Zombie

Appearance: Liberty Falls And Terminus

  • Weakness: Headshots and armor-penetrating bullets.

Aside from a gray helmet and dropping more armor plates, there’s virtually no difference between an armored and a regular zombie. Appearing from Round 9 onward, armored zombies share the same weakness as their unarmored variants —headshots— but you must deplete their helmet first.

For this enemy type, using the FMJ Fire Mod can be a solid strategy. It boosts bullet penetration, allowing you to bypass the armored zombie’s protection directly. As a result, you have a high chance of killing the zombie before exhausting its armor, saving you valuable time and ammo.

Killing any armored zombie before diminishing its armor will not register as a Critical Kill.

Heavy Zombie

Appearance: Liberty Falls And Terminus

Fighting a Heavy Zombie on Round 20 at Liberty Falls in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies.
  • Weakness: Headshots and armor-penetrating bullets.

Compared to a standard armored zombie, a Heavy Zombie is tankier and fully covered in armor. As such, body shots are basically equivalent to wasting bullets, so headshots are your only option. Like armored zombies, this mob is weak to armor-penetrating bullets, and they have a high chance of dropping armor plates.

Heavy Zombies start spawning in roughly Round 17 and above. The best way to hit them with headshots is to use the Shock Stick for temporary immobilization or get the Deadshot Daiquiri Perk-a-Cola. For an easier route, you can spare some Essence and use the Dark Aether Field Generator instead.

5

Vermin

Appearance: Liberty Falls And Terminus

Fighting a Vermin on Round 6 at Liberty Falls in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies.
  • Weakness: Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod and headshots.

Small and quick targets are usually the most irritating foes in Zombies, and the Vermin are no exception. On top of being agile, these arachnids can crawl on walls, and their unpredictable movement means you’ll likely miss a few shots. At first, they appear in special waves starting from Round 6 (at Liberty Falls) but gradually become more common in regular rounds.

Fortunately, the Vermin are vulnerable to the Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod. Furthermore, they have exceptionally low health, and a headshot or two can finish the job. So, stay mobile and eliminate these creatures the moment you see them.

Standing near the Jugger-Nog Perk-a-Cola Machine at The Alamo in Liberty Falls is a great strategy to fend off Vermin. Without aiming down sight, you can usually kill them en masse before they can reach you.

4

Parasite

Appearance: Terminus

Fighting a Parasite on Round 8 at Terminus in Call Of Duty Black Ops 6 Zombies.
  • Weakness: Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod and headshots.

Being as nimble as a Vermin is already troublesome, but if you add flight to the mix, you end up with the Parasite. Unlike a Vermin, whose attacks are purely melee, a Parasite can spew acid at you, causing visual impairment on top of dealing damage. Terminus is known for its narrow corridors, so the Parasite’s barrage at higher rounds can be catastrophic.

Unsurprisingly, they share the same weakness as the Vermin, the Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod, which spreads to other Parasites. Like their arachnid counterparts, they also appear as a single, gigantic swarm in specific rounds, and because of their low HP, you can quickly take them out with a few headshots.

3

Mangler

Appearance: Liberty Falls And Terminus

Fighting a Mangler on Round 20 at Liberty Falls in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies.
  • Weakness: Napalm Burst Ammo Mod, headshots, and armshots.

Manglers are the first Elite enemy type you encounter in both Zombies missions, and the follow-up rewards are worth the effort. They first enter the map in Round 11, possessing a cannon with a massive range that clips through objects. The overall damage output is low, but the slight dizziness after each hit is certainly a problem.

Here is how you can craft the Jet Gun in Black Ops 6.

The Mangler is weak to the Napalm Burst Ammo Mod and has two notable weak points you must target: head and cannon arm. Upon breaking through its initial armor, the exposed area largely results in Critical Hits. To make it worthwhile, the Mangler can often drop scorestreaks and special items, like loot keys and the Mutant Injection.

Shoot the Mangler’s cannon when it charges up its attack to temporarily stun it. If you sever the cannon arm entirely, it may drop the Mangler Cannon, which you can pick up and use.

2

Abomination

Appearance: Liberty Falls

Fighting a Abomination on Round 15 at Liberty Falls in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies.
  • Weakness: Napalm Burst Ammo Mod, Brain Rot Ammo Mod, and direct shots at the glowing head.

If a zombie demands your full attention, it’s a force to be reckoned with. The Abomination, the most formidable Elite Zombie in Liberty Falls, makes its first appearance after Round 15. While it doesn’t deal significant damage, this three-headed behemoth can launch deadly long-range attacks, including an Aetherium Blast and charging assault. Furthermore, a direct collision can heavily disorient you, leaving you vulnerable to nearby mobs.

Its primary weakness lies in its heads, particularly the one glowing with lightning. When enough damage is inflicted, this head bursts open, reducing the number of targets. Additionally, the beast is weak to fire, so using the Napalm Burst or Brain Rot Mod with a Molotov can cause serious harm.

The best time to assault an Abomination is when it’s stationary and vulnerable during its Aether Blast. When it begins the attack, strafe to any side to escape its line of fire and shoot directly at the glowing head.

1

Amalgam

Appearance: Terminus

Fighting the Amalgam on the final Terminus objective in Call Of Duty Black Ops 6. Zombies.
  • Weakness: Dead Wire Ammo Mod, Shadow Rift Ammo Mod, and direct shots at the glowing head.

Despite being a melee-style Elite Zombie in Terminus, the Amalgam is no joke —it has deceptively good damage and speed, an unblockable grab attack that pulls you in for a lethal attack, and it can regenerate HP. While it doesn’t have the enormous HP of an Abomination, the Amalgam is far more deadly among a horde of zombies.

When cornered by one of these monsters, aim at its yellow, glowing skulls for maximum damage. To be even more dominant, equip the Dead Wire or Shadow Rift Ammo Mod. Lastly, if you have the Ray Gun in your arsenal, use it against the Amalgam and tear it to shreds.
