Pokemon TCG Pocket is not too difficult in terms of deckbuilding. Since you can only use two copies of the same card in your deck, it is fairly easy to get a full playset. However, some of the best decks will require multiple ex Pokemon to run properly, which can put a drain on your pack points if you can’t seem to pull them.

The Psyduck Package is a pretty inexpensive set of cards to pull. With the power of Greninja you can start punching at the back row each turn. This is a great alternative to Starmie ex despite doing 20 less damage.
However, Psyduck also has utility as it can stop your opponent from using Supporters during their turn. This can be deadly if you manage to use this move with the help of Misty on turn one. Now, they won’t be able to draw using Professor’s Research or tag out using X Speed.

Pincurchin and Hypno work together to create a budget deck that can leave your opponent stunned. The idea is to have Hypno on the Bench putting Pokemon to Sleep while Pincurchin strikes and potentially leaves then Paralyzed.
While you can only afflict your opponent with one status effect at a time, you have two chances to get it done properly on a fully set up board. These Pokemon also aren’t too difficult to find or craft, making it relatively easy to put this deck together.

You can combine your starter Cubone deck with the promo pack Mankey to create a simple budget deck that can deal big damage. If you choose the Mewtwo pack as your starter, you can receive a free Marowak ex to boost this deck.
Promo Mankey is also a good way to prepare Primeape since it can self-inflict ten damage, which later boosts the power of its attack when evolved. With this budget deck, you can deal plenty of damage without having to craft a second set of ex Pokemon.

Dugtrio Stun

Marowak has a different budget variant that trades power for the ability to stun opponents. This deck revolves around having Dugtrio on the Active Spot, dealing 40 damage each turn and protecting itself with Dig.
Meanwhile, your Bench is turning your Cubones into hard-hitting Marowak ex, which can swoop in if Dugtrio takes too much damage and you need to swap it out. This deck only utilizes one set of Marowak ex, but if you find yourself with only one, you can always substitute it with a copy of the non ex variant.

Alakazam is a great budget choice for Psychic-type enjoyers without having to dip into your pack point vault. Alakazam does 60 damage to your opponent’s Pokemon but gets a power boost for each Energy they have on their current Pokemon.
Alakazam can one-shot cards such as Pikachu ex, Charizard ex, and Mewtwo ex while they’re at full power. While it is a three-card line, it is far less expensive than going for Mewtwo ex. While Gardevoir would be nice in this deck, you can splash in some Colorless Pokemon, such as Kangaskhan and Farfetch’d, to play more aggressively with fewer evolutions needed.

If you have some spare Onix sitting in your bulk, you can make an interesting Deck that can utilize Brock on turn one. The rarest card in this deck is Kabutops, so it’s cheap to make. Use Onix as your only Basic Pokemon so that you always get it in hand during turn one and use Brock right away.
Now Onix will act as a wall while you use your Dome Fossils to set up Kabutops. Since it only requires one Energy to use Leech Life, you can be ready to start sucking your opponent’s HP dry as soon as Onix is taken down.

Blaine is the king of budget Pokemon. Magmar, Ninetails, and Rapidash all gain a neat little power boost from Blaine, and all three Pokemon are not the most difficult to obtain. This deck also has no ex-Pokemon, so you don’t need to rely on lucky pulls or burning through 500 pack points.
Despite using three different Pokemon lines, one is a Basic non evolution while the other two only need to go into Stage One, which makes it an incredibly easy deck to create but also to use in a battle.

Centiskorch is a great alternative to Charizard ex. You will still need Moltres ex to fire up your Energy acceleration, but only needing one set of ex Pokemon is far more achievable than two. Centiskorch is also a Stage One Pokemon, so it’s a much easier line to Evolve through.
Despite being budget, Centiskorch has the advantage over Charizard of only losing one Energy each time it attacks. This means you can consistently hit for 130 damage each turn using Fire Blast while only letting your opponent score a single point for knocking it out.

Legendary Bird Turbo is a deck that is so simple to use that you only need to cram items into it to work. Articuno works best as a budget option over Zapdos, since it can win games even if you only have one copy of Articuno ex.
A single copy of Articuno ex combined with Misty allows you to potentially knock out a Pokemon on your first turn. So, seeing it get knocked out is less of a risk. You can also sprinkle in some Helix Fossils and Omanytes to add a few extra hitters without messing with the turn one Articuno ex.
