It seems as though Pokemon Scarlet and Violet could still have some exciting updates on the horizon.
How to Participate in Unrivaled Torterra 7-Star Tera Raid
For players who have taken part in a 7-Star Tera Raid before, there is nothing they need to do, as this raid should get unlocked automatically. However, for players who are looking to take part in it for the first time, there are a few prerequisites to meet. Firstly, one needs to complete the game and complete the Academy Ace Tournament. Once that’s done, players will need to unlock 5-star and 6-star Raids. While 5-Star Tera Raids are unlocked after beating the game, 6-Star Tera Raids can be unlocked after players beat 10-15 5-Star Tera Raids. This can take a while, as there is no way to know beforehand the level of the Tera Raid from the map itself, and players will need to interact with each one to figure it out.
Once players have unlocked 6-Star Tera Raids, they should be able to take part in the 7-Star Tera Raid as well. The good news is that one doesn’t need to check each crystal for 7-Star Tera Raids manually, and all players need to do is look for the shining raid icons on the map.
What is Mighty Torterra Weak to in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
Torterra is a Grass and Ground-type Pokemon, and it will have its Tera-type as Ground during the event. This means it will be weak to all attacks that are strong against Ground types, namely Grass, Ice, and Water. However, players can’t just use any of these types as per their liking, as they need to be careful about Torterra’s offensive strengths. With its Tera-type, Torterra will have the same-type attack bonus for Grass and Ground-type.
Best Counters For Torterra Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
There are several viable strategies to take down Torterra, and here are some of the best ones.
Orthworm
Orthworm has been by far the most popular choice to take down Torterra. Players will need one with Fighting Tera-type along with the held item Metronome, which increases the damage of consecutive moves by 20%. The tactic to take down Torterra is by starting off with Iron Defense until leveling up their defense by six stages. After that, players can use simply spam Body Press and Protect when the stats are reset. The good thing about this strategy is that it can be used solo as well, so players don’t need to rely on others to win. What makes this tactic extremely overpowered is Orthworm’s Earth Eater ability, which heals the Pokemon every time it is hit by Ground-type moves.
Haunter
While this might sound like a rather unusual choice, Haunter with the Held Item Eviolite and Grass Tera-type can be a great choice against Torterra. The basic strategy around this revolves around using Clear Smog against Shell Smash and then a combination of Acid Spray and Nasty Plot to alter stats. After that, it is as simple as using Giga Drain to finish off Torterra.
Serperior
Another handy Pokemon that can be an absolute game-changer. With a Shell Bell and Grass Tera-type, players can get the better of Torterra by using Grassy Terrain and Leaf Storm to improve their damage, and then Giga Drain to finish off Torterra.
