Sengoku Dynasty: How To Make Leather
While you might not need leather at the start of Sengoku Dynasty, it’ll become quite an important resource later on.
As you progress through the game, you will need to liberate several regions from the influence of bandits, looters, and similar entities. Doing so will not only reward you with a ton of Dynasty experience but will also unlock several tool upgrades and recipes for many items and buildings.
How To Liberate A Region In Sengoku Dynasty
Liberating a region can either include taking on the special project of constructing a Watchtower or something similar that shows your authority in the region, or you may have to fight several strong foes and defeat the leader of the enemy force currently occupying the region. In some cases, you’ll have to do both.
To complete any special construction projects, such as the Sosogi Small Bridge or any Watchtowers, you will have to construct a Special Construction Workshop near the designated place. You can place the Special Construction Workshop near any construction site by equipping a hammer, selecting Basic Structures, and then selecting the Special Construction Workshop.
Once you have built the Special Construction Workshop, you will then have to submit the required materials to begin construction. Once all the materials have been submitted, you will then have to select the workers that will be working on the construction. After that, you will have to wait for the season to change for the construction to be completed.
Some special construction projects take several seasons to be completed, and the number of required workers may change depending on the project. Furthermore, once you have assigned a worker to the special construction project, they can not perform any jobs in the village for the duration, but you can change the assigned workers later on from the Jobs section in the Dynasty Menu.
Sosogi Region
Sosogi is the first region that you arrive in as a refugee and will likely be the first region that you want to liberate. Liberating Sosogi requires you to fulfill the following conditions:
- Defeat five looters.
- Defeat the looter leader.
- Construct Sosogi Small Bridge.
If you’ve built your first village near the burned one in Sosogi, you can find the small bridge towards the east, near the shrine priestess Chiyome’s abode. The bridge links the Sosogi Region to the Enjiro Rebels region and is required to be completed for Sayuri’s quest.
You may find many looters all over the Sosogi region, but the best place to find them is to travel by the river, and you’ll come across several small enemy camps that you can take on. If you’re confident in your combat abilities, you can head directly to the main looters’ camp towards the northeast of the burned village in Sosogi.
The looter leader’s hideout, like every other major enemy, will be marked with a red samurai helmet with crossed swords underneath it. If you approach the location, be wary of facing countless looters on the way as you make your way to the hideout.
The icon on the map only shows the location of the hideout, not the enemy leader, so you will have to look around to find the leader, who will likely not be too far from the hideout.
After you’ve successfully satisfied all the required conditions, you will unlock the copper version of all the tools and will be able to craft them at any workshop.
Enjiro Rebels Region
Liberating the Enjiro Rebels region is incredibly easy, as you only have to construct the Watchtower. The Watchtower’s special construction project can be found towards the southeast area of the region, near the borders of the Central Plains.
You will unlock the recipes for the bronze sword and half bow and will also be able to craft the bronze Ashigaru armor. However, to unlock the bronze version of the tools, you will have to liberate the Mountain region.
The Mountain Region
The conditions for liberating the Mountain region are quite similar to those of the Sosogi region. You will have to do the following things to liberate it:
- Construct Mountain Watchtower.
- Defeat the bandit leader.
- Defeat eight bandits.
You can find the bandit leader’s hideout in the center of the Mountain region, slightly towards the east. You will also encounter several bandits near the hideout, which will be enough to satisfy the requirements.
For the Watchtower, you can find it far to the east of the Mountain region, near the Iwasaki region’s border. Liberating the area will reward you with the recipe for the bronze version of all the tools, including the bronze pickaxe, which allows you to mine iron ore.
