Black Myth: Wukong runs the gamut of bosses with varying difficulty levels, character designs, and movesets. To collect all six of Sun Wukong’s relics and fulfil his destiny, the Destined One battles greedy, power-hungry monks, dragons wielding elemental powers and gigantic shapeshifting spiders.

Black Myth: Wukong – All Bosses In Chapter One, Ranked By Difficulty
We take a look at all the bosses in chapter one of Black Myth: Wukong and rank them by difficulty.
From lush forests to snowfields and maze-like caverns, the Destined One encounters numerous opponents, some more difficult than most. These bosses either have one phase too many, attack patterns that are difficult to get used to, or both. One thing is for sure, it’s the most satisfying feeling in the world the moment you defeat them.
10
Whiteclad Noble
Location |
Marsh of White Mist, Bamboo Grove |
Drops |
Jade Fang |
The hardest boss in Chapter One, the Whiteclad Noble guards an entryway in the Marsh of White Mist. Wielding a spear, this compulsory boss is agile and quick on his feet, coming at you with an endless series of jabs, thrusts and lunges.
The Whiteclad Noble has a second phase, too, his legs morphing into a serpent’s tail. He is much faster in this form, swanning about the boss arena and doling out AoE attacks like it’s nothing. Patience and carefully conserving your gourd for the second stage is a must to conquer this boss.
9
Yellow Wind Sage
Location |
Cellar Shrine, Yellow Wind Formation |
Drops |
|
The Yellow Wind Sage is the final boss of Chapter Two and boy is he an absolute nuisance to deal with. Cradling his master’s head, the Yellow Wind Sage wields a trident he uses to whack you about. He could also stomp and kick you into the air if you’re not careful.
What’s worse, however, is the sandy hurricane he summons to surround the arena with and the gigantic beetle spirit he lobs at you. Midway through the battle, he conjures a mini tornado that could suck you in and toss you around, making it easy for the Yellow Wind Sage to deal a finishing blow.
8
Yellowbrow
Location |
Mahavira Hall, New Thunderclap Temple |
Drops |
|
Throughout Chapter Three, a little Buddha clad in yellow robes made it his mission to plague you with overpowered enemies. When you confront him in Mahavira Hall, he quickly reveals himself to be Yellowbrow, an impostor who will now set out to electrocute you with his lightning attacks.
There’s not one, not two, but three phases you have to contend with. The first phase is easy enough, but you’ll have to face an old enemy in the new, revamped Macaque Chief. Once you defeat the latter, Yellowbrow will be waiting for you with new AoE lightning attacks and an annoying ability to coat himself in gold armour.
When Yellowbrow covers himself in gold, uses a charged Heavy Attack to break through his armour.
7
Yellow Loong
Location |
Relief of the Fallen Loong, Webbed Hollow |
Drops |
|
The fourth Loong boss, the game knows when to save the best – and worst – for last. The Yellow Loong can be found standing on a cliffside beneath a pagoda. Don’t be deceived by the serene atmosphere, however, as this boss is ready to tear you apart.
As soon as the fight starts, the Yellow Loong smacks you in the face with wide arcs of lightning. The worst part is when the boss zips from one corner to another, dealing massive damage if you’re not fast enough to dodge. You’ll be pulling your hair out in frustration tackling this boss.
6
Yin Tiger
Location |
Zodiac Village |
Drops |
|
The blacksmith of Zodiac Village, the Yin Tiger is a godsend for helping you craft and upgrade your gear. However, you might notice the ‘Challenge’ option when interacting with him. The moment you select it, you’ll get a taster to one of the most relentless opponents in the game.
The Yin Tiger uses his enormous cleaver to eat up your health bar. He teleports around the arena, only to appear in the place you’d least expect to smash you overhead with his blade. Using the Immobilise spell doesn’t work on him, but the Cloud Step spell is going to help massively.
5
Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master
Location |
Temple of Yellow Flowers |
Drops |
|
The Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master is the final boss to finish up Chapter Four, and it’s one of those bosses where you feel as if you’re barely making a dent. Although the spider sisters help out at first, they’re nowhere to be found if you die the first time.
From hurling great arcs of golden lightning to spewing poison, this boss hits like a tank and has the HP of one, and during his second phase, he swallows his sword and a golden bubble surrounds the arena. The Weaver’s Needle deals with this easily, but it certainly takes a while to get to this point.
4
Scorpionlord
Location |
Bounds of Deity’s Abode, Purple Cloud Mountain |
Drops |
|
A secret boss with a complex and overpowered moveset, the Scorpionlord is found in the hidden area known as the Purple Cloud Mountain. When it comes to this boss, it’s his tail that presents a huge problem, as Scorpionlord whirls its tail around the arena like a breakdancer, while spitting poison with every movement.
He’s able to teleport, as well as deal extra damage with his oversized right claw. With the ability to summon poison geysers from the ground, adapting to Scorpionlord’s attacks and timing your dodges right will be a steep learning curve.
3
The Duskveil/ Blood Moon General
Location |
Cloudnest Peak, Purple Cloud Mountain |
Drops |
|
Also in the same area as the Scorpionlord, the Duskveil is the boss to beat if you want to get your hands on the Weaver’s Needle. The boss has two phases, largely using its claws and wings to shoot projectiles at you during the first phase.

Black Myth: Wukong – Every Kun Steel Location
Here is how you can get the Kun Steel crafting material in Black Myth: Wukong.
Once the second stage hits, the sky and the arena turn blood-red and the boss is now the Blood Moon General. Armed with a greatsword, the boss spams more AoE attacks and has greater reach due to his weapon. Aggressive and ferocious, the Blood Moon General will take every last bit of your patience to defeat.
If you leave the Scorpionlord alone, he will come and help you fight Duskveil. However, once Duskveil is defeated, the Scorpionlord and Daoist Mi boss fights will be unavailable.
2
Yaksha King
Location |
Fallen Furnace Crater Shrine, Field of Fire |
Drops |
|
One of the coolest-looking bosses in the game, the Yaksha King is the last boss of Chapter Five. The second form of the Red Boy boss, he consumed Sun Wukong’s relic to morph into the Yaksha King. Zhu Bajie joins the fight to help you but dips mid-fight.
With the swords sprouting from his elbows, the Yaksha King can extend his blades, swinging wide and hitting hard. He can cause blades to sprout up from the ground and hurl flame projectiles your way while cartwheeling from place to place.
1
Erlang Shen
Location |
Mount Mei |
Drops |
|
It seems fated that we would face Erlang Shen again after that tutorial boss fights in the opening, but the Destined One must clear out all the secret areas throughout the chapters to even gain access to him. As a secret final boss, it’s almost expected that he would be the most challenging to battle.
Aside from shooting lasers from his third eye and Erlang’s Celestial Dog pitching in for a bite, the boss’ infamously gigantic axe makes an appearance once more. Once defeated, Erlang shifts to his enormous lion form and the fight resumes to give way to the true ending.
