Another Dragon Age game has come and gone, and with it, more questions than answers, as we had come to expect. Dragon Age: The Veilguard has added its own spin to the story of Thedas, showing the origins of many of the continent’s most well-known races and how connected they truly are.

If you finished Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but aren’t quite ready to move on, here’s what you can do after beating it.

Yet many questions remain after the credits have rolled, especially when we consider the scenes after them. The fate of many characters is left unknown, as is the destiny of entire civilizations, so we are left to wonder what will happen now in the world of Dragon Age.

Can Dwarves Become Mages?

They Can Move Rocks, At Least

Limiting what class you can pick depending on your race isn’t something new to the world of video games, but the Dragon Age series has only one such limitation: dwarves can’t be mages. This is because they aren’t connected to the Fade, and in fact, they don’t even dream.

As the story of the game unfolds, more specifically the story of Harding, we learn that the Titans (the ancestors of the dwarves) were connected to the Fade, but that connection was severed when the ancient elves used their blood to create their mortal bodies. Harding has found a way to remake that connection, which has us wondering if dwarves will be able to pick the mage class in the next Dragon Age installment or just move a couple of rocks.

Can Demons Possess People Other Than Mages?

Lucanis Might Have Opened A Dreadful Can Of Worms

In Dragon Age lore, an abomination is formed when a demon successfully possesses a mortal, more specifically, a mage. The connection mages possess to the Fade made them a direct link between the spirit world and the mortal world, which is why the Circles of Mages were formed, keeping watch on mages in case they showed signs of possession.

Lucanis, a companion from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, is the first non-mage character that harbors a demon. His relationship with the demon Spite and the nature of their bond is unlike anything we’ve seen in the lore before, but it might point to a world where anyone can be possessed, making us wonder if that may as well be the case for future games.

Will Griffons Grow To Become Mounts?

Assan Looks Like A Baby After All

Davrin’s storyline revolves around his nature as a Grey Warden and his relationship with his animal companion, Assan. Assan is part of the griffon species, a mythical flying animal thought to be extinct, and that were the fateful companions of Grey Wardens of old.

Is Dragon Age: The Veilguard worth your time?

Davrin and Assan fight as one all throughout the game, and through their story, you can rescue several more griffon hatchlings to ensure that their species can grow anew. This makes us wonder if, in future games, griffons might become mounts that the player can use to get around, a flying version of the mount system already present in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Can The Grey Wardens Be Healed From Darkspawn Taint?

If Your Companion Can, So Should They

Dragon Age Veilguard image showing Ghilan'nain.

A critical point in the final story moments in Dragon Age: The Veilguard is when you have to choose between Bellara or Neve to open the way forward. Whoever you choose will get kidnapped by Elgar’nan, showing up in the final battle to aid you with their newly tainted blood.

If you’ve done their personal quests, their will to live is strong enough to survive the death of Elgar’nan and seemingly remove the Darkspawn taint from their blood. With the ones controlling the Blight gone, we can’t help but wonder if all other Grey Wardens shouldn’t have their blood purified, avoiding the gruesome fate that awaits those who make it to old age.

Is Solas Trapped Forever?

Thedas Needs That Veil Intact

No matter what ending you choose, Solas is always trapped in the Fade, anchoring the Veil so the world doesn’t fall apart. He ends up trapped much in the same way Elgar’nan and Ghilan’nain were, stuck in a limbo for an indefinite amount of time.

Ranking Every Companion in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

There are seven companions by the Rook’s side throughout Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but which one is the best?

This makes us wonder, will he remain there forever? Events in future games might create a way for the Veil to remain in place without his presence, or he might become a disembodied voice that guides characters from the great beyond; the point is, we doubt this is the last we will ever see of the Dreadwolf.

Is Mythal Alive?

Morrigan Only Seems To Hold Her Memories

Mythal, the ancient spirit that the elves worshiped as a god, survived her betrayal by jumping from host to host, gathering power as she did so. In the end, all that power was taken by Solas, while he also killed the latest host of Mythal, Flemeth.

Morrigan later tells Rook that the essence of Mythal then came to her, but only the memories of the ancient elves were passed on, not the powers nor the personality. Morrigan can still manifest an aspect of Mythal to talk to Solas, but it is hard to say if Mythal really did survive or if she is little more than memories in Morrigan’s head.

Were The Executors Behind Everything?

Their Symbol Appears At The End Of The Game

Dragon Age Veilguard image showing the executors.

Beating the game with every single quest done and collectible attained will unlock a new scene at the end of the game, particularly after the credits. In it, we see shadowy figures of unknown origin represented as being behind every major event in the series, from Logain’s betrayal to Solas’ imprisonment in the Fade.

Due to the symbol that appears at the end, this mysterious faction seems to be the Executors, a group of beings that like to remain hidden, only known thanks to cryptic messages during Dragon Age: Inquisition. We will have to wait for a future game or DLC to know what they might want or what they hope to achieve with everything that has happened in the series thus far.
