The Wardance Festival in Honkai: Star Rail introduced several new characters who played a crucial role in defeating the prisoner in Xianzhou Loufu, Hoolay. One of the key players on the scene was General Feixiao, who fought valiantly to defeat the Borisin leader with the help of her friend and medical specialist, Jiaoqiu.

Honkai: Star Rail – Best Builds and Light Cones For Jiaoqiu
Jiaoqiu is one of the best debuffers in Honkai: Star Rail, but you’ll have to build him properly if you want to get the most value.
Jiaoqiu is a Fire Nihility unit who can inflict DoT status on enemies and deal significant damage with his Ultimate ability. While he isn’t as universal as some of the other support units in the game, he shines marvelously when you slot him into specific teams.
Best Jiaoqiu Team
Jiaoqiu |
Damage Driver |
---|---|
Acheron |
Main DPS |
Pela |
Support |
Aventurine |
Shielder |
This team is quite self-explanatory as Jiaoqiu functions best when paired alongside Acheron. The reason is the latter needs Slashed Dreams stacks to activate her Ultimate ability. With his Ultimate, Jiaoqiu deals damage to enemies and activates a domain.
While this field is active, Jiaoqiu inflicts the Ashen Roast debuff on enemies. This debuff increases the DMG received by enemies while also inflicting Burn status effect, which in turn deals DoT DMG. The DoT damage helps Acheron receive Slashed Dream stacks pretty quickly.
You can also use Jiaoqiu’s Skill and Technique to inflict Ashen Roast on enemies. However, you must be careful with Skill usage as every other member of the party will also need access to those points. Lastly, enemies will receive additional Ultimate damage from allies when Jiaoqiu’s domain is active.
This boosts Acheron’s damage by a massive amount, thereby allowing you to clear end-game content like Memory of Chaos, Apocalyptic Shadow, or Pure Fiction with ease. The damage is further amplified by Pela, who can also deal DoT damage to enemies while reducing their defenses.
Once you have the team in place, you need to start with Jiaoqiu’s Ultimate, followed by Pela, and finally Acheron. If the rotations are correct, you can easily deal massive damage and clear all forms of content effortlessly.
If you have Acheron’s Light Cone, use her Basic ability first and then activate her Ultimate. This will help you deal high damage.
If you have Acheron at Eidolon 2, you can drop Pela and use Sparkle instead. At Eidolon 2, the two Nihility unit requirement for maximum damage is gone, and Acheron can benefit from the buffs of a Harmony unit like Sparkle, who will boost the former’s CRIT DMG and overall DMG output.
Aventurine is the primary sustain for this team as he will provide shields and occasionally use his Ultimate to deal damage to enemies. You can use any other healer or shielder here, but Aventurine is the easiest to use and his ability to sustain surpasses everyone else in the current meta.
Jiaoqiu DoT Team
Jiaoqiu |
Damage Driver |
---|---|
Kafka |
Main DPS |
Black Swan |
Sub-DPS |
Luocha |
Healer |
Kafka is the only DoT DPS in the game, and she works pretty well with Jiaoqiu. This is because her skill has a condition where the more DoT effects there are on the enemy, the more damage she will deal. The damage output of the DoT status effects is based on Kafka’s own damage.
In this team, Jiaoqiu can inflict Burn, Black Swan inflicts Wind Shear, and Kafka can trigger Shock. All three of these status effects will deal massive damage to enemies and come in handy against tanky bosses in Memory of Chaos.
Additionally, the damage from Kafka’s Ultimate is massively boosted by Jiaoqiu’s domain. The same principle works for Black Swan as well, where her Ultimate damage is enhanced and her Wind Shear stacks tear through the enemy’s HP bar on account of the Ashen Roast debuffs from Jiaoqiu.
However, you must ensure Jiaoqiu, Black Swan, and Kafka have the SPD stat above 135 so that they can get their turns before the enemy.
If you are confident enough, you can use Ruan Mei instead of Luocha and run a no-sustain team. While your survivability will be reduced considerably, the damage will be enhanced significantly. This will require perfect builds on all the other units in the team.
This team is dependent on stacking the DoT status effects on the enemies and relies on using their Skill and Ultimate abilities. In addition to that, you also have to maintain enough Energy Regen so that Kafka and Jiaoqiu can get their Ultimate abilities back as fast as possible.
Lastly, Luocha functions as the primary healer as he can cleanse debuffs from allies and remove buffs from enemies. The reason why Luocha works best here is because he is SP-positive and doesn’t need to use his Skill as often. This allows the rest of the team to use the Skill Points liberally to ensure proper rotations.
Jiaoqiu F2P Team
Jiaoqiu |
Damage Driver |
---|---|
Serval |
Main DPS |
Asta |
Support |
Lynx |
Sustainer |
If you lack some of the top-tier premium units to pair alongside Jiaoqiu, you can go for some free-to-play characters that are given to you at the very beginning of the game. Serval is one such unit that can benefit from Jiaoqiu’s Ashen Roast debuff and the Ultimate boost from his domain.
While Serval’s damage isn’t that high, when paired with Jiaoqiu, she can work in specific end-game content. Additionally, Asta further provides ATK and SPD buffs which are always quite nice on both Jiaoqiu and Serval as Nihility scales off the former stat. Finally,
Lynx can provide party-wide heals and cleanse debuffs, which will keep you alive against some of the bosses in the game.
Since Serval doesn’t deal enough damage, it is better to build Jiaoqiu as a sub-DPS in this team so that you can make the most out of his Ultimate and Skill. Ideally, this would mean you need to pull for Jiaoqiu’s Light Cone if you are looking to use this team for Memory of Chaos or Pure Fiction.
