Sometimes, you just want to deal tons of damage at once against the wyverns of Monster Hunter Now, but still have a bit of versatility to keep things fresh. Enter the best Charge Blade builds, which require you to get points in specific skills to maximize your damage output and slay even the most fearsome monsters.
The tricky bit is that these weapons have different vials for you to take advantage of which augment the powers of your Special Skill. To get the best Charge Blade builds in Monster Hunter Now, you need to salvage monster material parts from all the currently available beasts to craft the weapon and armor parts, as well as walk with Driftstone Ores to get further buffs.

Best Monster Hunter Now Charge Blade Build
If you want the best Monster Hunter Now Charge Blade build, you should focus on crafting and upgrading any of the weapons you get from Elder Dragons. All of them will work well with this build, with all three giving you a point in Hunter’s Unity at Grade 6 to bolster attack power when hunting with others that have this skill equipped.
While the Kushala Daora weapon’s Windproof skill is handy for dealing with wind pressure, two points isn’t going to do much in the long run. The Teostra weapon’s Heroics is a bit more useful but relies on you being at low health to utilize it properly. Therefore, if you want the very best build, Devastation’s Thorns is universally the best pick, as giving two points in Partbreaker at Grade 8 complements the build nicely.
One obstacle you might find is that Nergigante isn’t exactly a common Elder Dragon to fight. It first appeared during the in-person Monster Hunter Now Carnival event in October 2024, and it has since debuted globally and will be coming back periodically to the game in the coming months. Given that this and one other part of this build require materials from this spiky beast, you should keep an eye on the in-game news for events where Nergigante will appear.
These armor pieces you’ll make for this build include skills that are thankfully relatively versatile, no matter which weapon you have equipped. Offensive Guard increases attack power after a well-timed block, while Guard reduces knockback and damage whenever you defend against monster attacks. Finally, Artillery increases damage from phials and adds an additional phial to your weapon’s chamber. You’ll primarily fight against Barroth, Basarios, and Diablos to get materials for all but one of these armor pieces, so it shouldn’t be too difficult, especially as they can all be summoned with the Paintball Tracker mechanic.
The issue you’re going to face when making this build is with the Vambraces, as the recommendation is to go for the Nergigante Vambraces, which are tricky to come by for the same reasons outlined above: Nergigante simply doesn’t spawn all that often. These Vambraces grant both a point in Offensive Guard at Grade 6 and Guard at Grade 8. Both are the major skills that make this build work and, since the rest of the armor pieces only require hunting relatively common mid-level creatures at best, you shouldn’t have much of an issue going after those to bolster your build in-between Nergigante events. The Nergigante Avidity ability also stops the Special Gauge from building when attacking, but the damage output you get outweighs the drawbacks.
