November 19 is Going to be a Big Day For Destiny 2 Fans

November 19 is Going to Be a Big Day for PS Plus Premium Subscribers

Key Takeaways

  • Bungie fixed an issue where weapon perk generation caused unobtainable combos, giving away free god rolls on Nov 19.
  • The giveaway includes six god rolls, including highly sought-after weapons like Multimach and VS Chill Inhibitor.
  • The promotion aims to compensate players for lost farming time, also making Vesper’s Host drop double loot for two weeks starting November 19.

Bungie recently averted what could have been one of the most disastrous controversies in Destiny 2‘s history after players collectively discovered there was an issue with perk generation for any weapons, making it so the distance between perks could cause some combos not to drop. This has been addressed by Bungie by fixing the issue, and considering this has been likely in the game at least since The Final Shape launched, a lot of Destiny 2 players were upset anyway at the thought of their farming time being lost. However, the company promised Guardians some shiny loot, and players will have to mark November 19 on their calendars.

There have been multiple times in Destiny 2‘s history where some issues were addressed by Bungie in a way that was rewarding for players. Even the many free Emblems given away as a means to celebrate iconic community moments, such as the so-called “craftening” when Guardians could craft impossible versions of weapons, are a testament to Bungie’s attempts to make good on controversies. As a result of the perk weighting debable, November 19 will be no different, and that’s because Bungie will give away multiple Destiny 2 god rolls for players to freely claim in the game.

Destiny 2’s Free God Rolls Explained

On November 19, Bungie will add a total of six god rolls free for all Destiny 2 players to claim. These weapons include:

  • Rose – Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Slideshot, Explosive Payload, Smooth Grip, Handling MW
  • Multimach – Polygonal Rifling + Tactical Mag + Attrition Orbs + Kinetic Tremors + Reload MW
  • Indebted Kindness – Smart Drift Control + Tactical Mag + Loose Change + Voltshot + Velocity MW
  • Compass Rose – Corkscrew Rifling, Light Mag, Snapshot Sights, Slideshot, Handling MW
  • Hothead (Adept) – Hard Launch + Impact Casing + Tracking Module + Clown Cartridge + Reload MW
  • VS Chill Inhibitor – Countermass + Spike Grenades + Envious Arsenal + Bait and Switch + Reload MW

The issue was first discovered due to VS Chill Inhibitor not dropping its god roll for many players, and Bungie already promised that the Vesper’s Host Dungeon would have double drops from November 19 through December 3. On top of that, the company promised that this collection of six Destiny 2 god rolls would be available at Banshee-44 in the Tower, free for all players. While November 19 is the start date for this giveaway, Bungie doesn’t have a deadline for it just it, so players will have plenty of time to claim all the weapons.

It’s worth noting that the Dungeon weapons in this list, Indebted Kindness and VS Chill Inhibitor, both require at least one completion of their respective activity for players to claim them, as well as ownership of the respective Dungeon Keys.

Destiny 2 is Ending 2024 With a Bang

The fact that Bungie is giving away god rolls for Dungeon weapons is a pretty significant first for the company, and it shows commitment to make good on the perk combo issue in Destiny 2. This further shows in the selection of these god rolls, as Multimach was one of the most grinded-for guns in the past year, specifically the combo of Attrition Orbs and Kinetic Tremors.

The same goes for most of these guns, which may not be 5/5 god rolls in all cases, but they are still rather good weapons to have – especially since none of these guns are craftable. Destiny 2‘s endgame meta will also become a tad more accessible thanks to the god roll for VS Chill Inhibitor, which is currently one of the best guns to bring for DPS. As such, with the double loot from Vesper’s Host and the free god rolls, November 19 is shaping up to be one of the biggest days for Destiny 2 ahead of 2025.
