Horizon’s Rumored Multiplayer Game To Seemingly Launch Next Year

Horizon's Rumored Multiplayer Game To Seemingly Launch Next Year

Key Takeaways

  • The Horizon world is quickly expanding, with a Lego title, as well as a remaster of Zero Dawn out in the wild.
  • That’s not all, as an online multiplayer project is also in the works over at Guerrilla Games.
  • Now, via a job posting on Guerrilla’s website, we know that the game could be coming as soon as the first half of 2025.

It’s no secret that Sony is going full-court press when it comes to its Horizon franchise. Following the release of Horizon Forbidden West, we’ve seen the original Zero Dawn get a remaster, along with the recently released Lego Horizon Adventures title.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Horizon also had a live-action adaptation in the works over at Netflix, though that project seems to be dead now. And there will no doubt be a third game in the series. That’s not to mention the long-rumored multiplayer project set within the Horizon world.

To this point, details on the latter project have been scarce at best. That said, via a new job posting over on Guerrilla’s official website, we may have an idea of just when to expect Horizon’s next gaming endeavor.

2025 Is Looking Stacked

As originally spotted on Reddit, Guerrilla Games is hiring a Release QA Intern. On the surface, it’s a fairly normal position, however, the description is where the real details lie.

Per that description, the hired intern will play a role in helping to “ensure the game is prepared for launch.” That role will take place within the “Online Project” segment of Guerrilla, and the person being hired must be able to work “during the first half of 2025.” In other words, it’s a hands-on commitment for a game that seemingly could come before the end of 2025.

As sharp gamers may recall, Guerrilla originally confirmed that it was working on “a separate online project in Horizon’s universe” back in 2022. That project will feature a “unique stylized look,” and “friends will be able to explore the majestic wilds of Horizon together.”

Following that initial bit of confirmation, alpha gameplay, as well as concept art managed to leak online in January 2023. Since then, however, things have been relatively quiet. Though, based off this job listing, it appears that news could be on the horizon (see what we did there).
