Salt is used in many crafting recipes in Enshrouded, but getting it isn’t as easy as compared to other games. Instead of gathering salt from seawater, players here must mine it from the environment, and there’s no better place to get salt than in an actual salt mine.
Luckily, there’s a salt mine that all players can reach fairly early on and without much hassle. Getting salt isn’t as problematic as making Violet Fabric in Enshrouded, and if you know where to go, you’ll be knee-deep in this crafting material in no time.

How to Get to the Salt Mine in Enshrouded
The place players are looking for is called the Egerton Salt Mine, which is located in a valley slightly northwest of the Springlands Ancient Spire. The mine itself is covered in Shroud, and you may need to upgrade your Flame before you can enter it if you’re just starting out.
The easiest way to get to the Egerton Salt Mine is to glide from the Ancient Tower. To reach the top of the tower, enter through the portal at the ground floor, then navigate through the halls to reach another floor portal leading upward. Once you get to the top, make sure to interact with the brazier at the middle to unlock the spire as a fast travel point.
From the top floor of the Springlands Ancient Spire, approach the northern balcony, then look west. You should be able to make it to the Egerton Salt Mine (or reach a place close to it) by jumping off and using your glider. If you have a Ghost Glider in Enshrouded, you should be able to get to the salt mine without running out of stamina or losing altitude.
Getting Salt in the Egerton Salt Mine
The Egerton Salt Mine is deep within enshrouded land, and unprepared players are likely to die if they aren’t familiar with the area. The map above shows the location of a scaffold leading to and from the salt mine — use this point to recover your Shroud meter and get away from all the nasty monsters hiding in the fog. If you want to survive longer inside the Shroud, bring some Shroud flasks or get the Inner Fires skill from the Survivor tree.
Now, if it’s salt you’re looking for, enter any of the tunnels and look for salt crystals emerging from the wall. There are tons of these inside the mine, and there are some tunnels next to the scaffold safe zone too. Salt deposits can also spawn on the walls outside the tunnels. Keep in mind that places in the world outside your Flame Altar zones reset every two hours.
