And of course, who could ever forget Crash from the game that started it all, Modern Warfare. No, not that Modern Warfare. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
But just as there are some iconic maps, there are several maps that flat out suck. Currently, Red Card is drawing the ire of COD fans as the series’ worst map to date. Red Card aside, one Redditor wanted to know truly what is the worst COD map of all time.
If Only That Map Didn’t Exist
First and foremost, COD fans are in near unison that “Stonehaven” from Ghosts has to be one of the worst maps. Part of it has to do with how massive it is for a 6v6 arena, and the other part has to do with some of the unfortunate bugs that came from it.
“Took us 5 business days to go travel the map and when you died in your gun fight it was a real killer (no pun intended lol),” one user joked.
Another hated map is Euphrates Bridge from the Modern Warfare reboot. That map was bad enough that it was seemingly removed from the map selection pool for Modern Warfare.
Bog from the original Modern Warfare was also another hated entry by fans. Its design largely led to uneven lobbies that often favored sniper players with little room for anything else. “I loved Bog, but you could end up in some lopsided lobbies there,” one user opined.
And in quite possibly the most controversial take, one Redditor said Nuketown was the worst. We’re not sure why, but ouch. Clearly, the map has to have something going for it besides nostalgia to constantly be revived.
Either way, the entire thread is worth a spin through, particularly if you’ve been playing Call of Duty for a long time. Not only is it a trip down memory lane of some of the more frustrating elements of the series, but it’s a nice way to be reminded of just how iconic the series is to so many of us.
