Clash Royale Season 65 began with the introduction of Evo Musketeer and its draft event, and we’re already into the second event for the season: Phoenix Raid. This time, the orange legendary birds make their way to the arena, spawning behind you and your opponent’s towers. They glide down the lane on their own and decimate any foe that crosses their path.
But like all events and challenges in Clash Royale, figuring out the best deck for it is usually the secret to mastering it. In this guide, we’ve compiled three of the top decks that you might want to try out for the new Phoenix Raid event and secure victory in all your matchups.

Players can benefit from some cards much more than others in Level 15.
Clash Royale Phoenix Raid Event Overview
The Phoenix Raid event in Clash Royale will be available from November 11th -18th. Players must build a deck of eight cards and battle it out in the event games. The games take place in the same western/desert-themed arena that was used in the Evo Musketeer Draft event.
The match rules are the same as those in the original game mode, with one big exception. Phoenix, the 4-elixir Legendary Card, will start spawning behind both you and your opponent’s Princess Towers. They act as the troop on the side where they spawn but don’t cost any elixir to deploy.
The first Phoenix spawns for both teams after 10 seconds at the 2:50 minute mark. The number of Phoenix spawning for each team increases to two once the game hits the double-elixir stage.
Best Decks for Phoenix Raid Event in Clash Royale
Here are the three best decks for the Phoenix Raid event in Clash Royale:
- Goblinstein Ram Rider Rage
- Hog EQ Firecracker
- Evo Mortar Goblinstein IWiz
You’ll find more information about these decks below.
Goblinstein Ram Rider Rage
Ever since the Goblinstein came out, Bridge Spam decks have been rising in popularity in Clash Royale. It’s a relatively low-elixir champion that can pressure both your opponent’s buildings and dish out massive DPS on all troops with the ability. For the Phoenix Raid event, the Goblinstein RamRider Rage has the highest win rate at the moment.
You’ll need the following cards for this deck.
Card Name |
Elixir Cost |
---|---|
Evo Skeletons |
1 |
Evo Firecracker |
3 |
Rage |
2 |
Cannon |
3 |
Dart Goblin |
3 |
Arrows |
3 |
Ram Rider |
5 |
Goblinstein |

While it’s technically a bridge spam deck, it doesn’t have as many spammy units as the Pekka Bridge Spam that uses the Evo Pekka. Instead, the deck relies on cycling as many Ram Rider and Dart Goblin as possible on the Princess Towers to trickle down its HP. The Rage spell on top of them also massively increases your overall damage output.
You’ve also got the Evo Firecracker to get splash damage on the tower. While the deck doesn’t have a big spell like Fireball or Poison to get guaranteed tower damage, the amount of pressure you can create is enough to overwhelm almost any opponent you go up against.
For defense, you’ve got plenty of options between the Evo Skeletons, Cannon, or even the Goblinstein’s active ability in some situations. Arrows work great against Goblin Gang, Goblin, or even the Goblin Spear. Rage can eliminate 1 HP troops like Skeletons or Bats and buff up your Ram Rider to get the charge off.
The Dagger Duchess is the perfect tower troop for this deck.
Hog EQ Firecracker
Hog Rider is one of the most iconic cards in Clash Royale. While the most popular Hog Rider deck is still the 2.6 Hog Cycle, it’s not as strong as it once was, even with the arrival of the Evo Musketeer. However, if you still have a soft spot for this amazing win condition and want to use it for the Phoenix Raid event, consider giving the Hog EQ Firecracker a shot.
Here are the cards you’ll need for this deck:
Card Name |
Elixir Cost |
---|---|
Evo Skeletons |
1 |
Evo Firecracker |
3 |
Ice Spirit |
1 |
The Log |
2 |
Cannon |
3 |
Earthquake |
3 |
Hog Rider |
4 |
Goblinstein |
5 |
With a measly 2.8 average elixir cost, this is a trademark Hog Rider deck that allows you to stay on the offensive constantly. As you may have guessed already, Hog Rider is your primary win condition. But you’ve also got the new Goblinstein thrown into the deck, giving you a second way to break through your opponent’s defenses.
And let’s not forget the true highlight of this deck: the Evo Firecracker. Whether you have this powerful Evo card in cycle or not, playing your Firecracker smartly allows you to build up tons of damage throughout the match. With the Phoenix’s constantly spawning and gliding down the lane, you’ll be able to get guaranteed chip damage on the tower with your Firecracker.
You’ve also got plenty of cheap defensive cards to handle any type of push your opponent manages to build up. Both the Ice Spirit and Evo Skeletons serve as cheap DPS/distraction, while The Log and Earthquake will offer some much-needed control. And against Beatdown decks, the Cannon lets you handle your opponent’s tanky frontline.
This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.
Evo Mortar Goblinstein IWiz
Mortar decks have always had a solid win rate in Clash Royale. It’s not as expensive of a win condition as the X-Bow. And if you manage to get it on the opponent’s tower, it can take away a big chunk of its HP with just one or two shots. For the Phoenix Raid event, the Evo Mortar deck with the Goblinstein and Ice Wizard can help you rack up plenty of wins.
Use the following cards for this deck:
Card Name |
Elixir Cost |
---|---|
Evo Bats |
2 |
Evo Mortar |
4 |
Goblin Gang |
3 |
Miner |
3 |
Ice Wizard |
3 |
Arrows |
3 |
Cannon Cart |
5 |
Goblinstein |
5 |
Mortar decks in Clash Royale prioritize defense over offense. For most parts of the matchup, you’ll be relying on setting up your defense and handling your opponent’s pushes while building up a steady elixir lead. Once you’ve forced your opponent to over-commit, you can go in with your Evo Mortar and get massive damage on the enemy tower.
Of course, the biggest weakness of this deck is that it only uses one spell: Arrows. That means if you don’t manage to break through, you’ll have no way to use your spells to win the tiebreaker against your opponent. Then again, both Miner and Goblinstein are great at breaking through the defensive structures and giving you guaranteed tower damage.
With the Cannon Cart in the deck, you can take out any mini-tank your opponent uses to tank the Mortar Shot. Goblin Gang offers massive DPS and can take down big troops like Golem or Goblin Giant for a positive elixir trade, And the Ice Wizard will also offer excellent crowd control against your opponent’s swarms.
Both Cannoneer and Dagger Duchess work well with this deck.
Tips to Win the Pheonix Raid Event in Clash Royale
Before we take our leave, here are a few tips to help you secure more wins in the new Clash Royale event:
- Try to take advantage of the Phoenix spawns. Time your push so that you can use the additional Phoenix to support your other cards.
- Don’t forget to defend the Phoenix in the other lane. If left unchecked, it can eat away at your healthy Princess Tower.
- Don’t overspend while attacking. The last thing you want to do is use too much elixir to build a push only to get your tower taken because you don’t have enough elixir to defend.
- Each deck has different timings and strengths. Know when you should be aggressive and when to buckle down for defense.
- Try to defend using cheap cards to build up an elixir lead as you head into the double elixir stage of the game.
The Phoenix Raid event is certainly an interesting addition to Clash Royale. The decks we mentioned should give you a good idea of which cards to use for your decks. But it’s also important to experiment with different card combinations to find a deck that works best with your playstyle.
