Disney Dreamlight Valley has had a busy year as it has pushed out many big updates and expansions for its ever-growing community. Players have been given 5 updates within 2024 alone, and now we are about to get our second expansion for the game as well right before the end of the year.




The game has been giving the community almost everything they have been asking for with each update, but since they decided they wouldn’t be making the game free-to-play and that they would need the funds to keep the game going with new content, they have released an expansion with a new one on the way. In these expansions, players can expect new characters, new items and recipes, and much more. But what time does the expansion release? This guide will explain when to expect it to be released.

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s second expansion pass will certainly give players a wider world to explore with some new allies and villains.

When Does The Storybook Vale Expansion Release For DDV?

The newest update will be an expansion that will be coming out on November 20th, 2024, at 9 AM EST (6 AM PST). With this update, players can expect many new features, characters, and more. The expansion will be available in two parts, this one being the first with the second part released sometime in the Summer of 2025, but no sure date has been released yet.

The latest expansion is called Storybook Vale, which is the first expansion since A Rift in Time was released where players saw Jafar introduced and portrayed as the main villain. The newest expansion will introduce two more main villain characters to Disney Dreamlight Valley; Maleficent and Hades.

The expansion will also introduce three new biomes to the Vale, the first being a deep forest area – The Bind, the next being one with bright-colored mushrooms in a dark place called Ever After, and finally the last biome will be inspired by Hercules called Mythopia. The latest characters that will be introduced besides the new villains are Merida from Brave and Flynn Rider from Tangled. There will also be new fish, plants, flowers, and also some new animals that can become the player’s companions – Dragons, Owls, and Winged Horses. Players will also unlock a brand new tool which is a net that becomes a big part of the story in the new expansion.


Players can purchase the expansion pack on November 20th, 2024, 9 AM EST (6 AM PST). There are a few different versions of the game and expansion players can purchase, including a Standard Edition which includes the expansion and 5,000 Moonstones costing a total of $29.99 USD. However, depending on how much the player is willing to spend, purchasing the Magical Edition or Enchanted Edition come with so much more bonuses. Below is a breakdown.
