Items Not Worth Using a Prestige Token

A Prestige rank in Black Ops 6 may show an excellent service record and a reason to keep earning XP, but it also comes with a price. Players who have entered into a prestige will lose everything and will be forced to unlock their favorite weapons and equipment all over again. However, prestige comes with a permanent unlock token, and that’s something that should not be wasted.

10 Most Fun Game Modes In Black Ops 6

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 features a bevvy of multiplayer modes; some familiar, others totally unique. These are the best modes of the bunch.

With over 10 prestige in Black Ops 6, players might want to spend their permanent unlock token on anything, but there are some things to consider when hitting a prestige, and most definitely, some items and weapons that they should actively avoid wasting a permanent unlock on.

10 Jackal PDW

A Decent SMG Unlocked for Free in the Campaign

jackal pdw

The Jackal PDW is not a bad SMG by any means, and some players might elect to use this fast-firing and compact weapon. However, despite the level needed to grab it, players can entirely avoid this process, and wasting a prestige token on it would be foolish considering it can be grabbed for free.

If players unlock any Blueprint for a specific weapon, then that weapon will be unlocked permanently. The Jackal PDW has an exclusive Blueprint in the Campaign with Pocket Aces, a weapon that can be purchased from the Weapons Bench for 3,000 Cash.

9 Baseball Bat

A Mediocre Melee Weapon Suited For Camos Only

While this melee weapon is unlocked at the very end of prestige with Level 52, it’s still not worth grabbing. The stats are basically the same as the knife, which is also a weapon players might not want to strictly rely on in combat, due to how a blunt object is going to suffer against a barrage of gunfire or buckshot from an SMG or Shotgun.

The Baseball Bat is a lot of fun, but players should only grab this weapon if they are trying to get all camos since the knife can do everything the Baseball Bat can, but maybe at a tad slower speed. Still, a two-hit weapon doesn’t benefit.

8 ASG-89

A Fast-Firing Shotgun Out DPS’d by SMGs

asg-89

The ASG-89 is a semi-auto shotgun that can get a one-shot kill on extremely close ranges, but it’s also suffering from the same issue as other weapons in that category: it’s a shotgun. While shotguns are fun, and their kick makes them a meaty choice, the meta is constantly dominated by DPS weapons.

The ASG-89 lacks the range to compete with SMGs and Assault Rifles, so it might be best to just leave this one on the back burner until a few buffs are provided to make the shotgun category truly compete, especially since most maps are rather large.

7 Model L

A Hard-Hitting Assault Rifle That Can Be Unlocked At Prestige 2

The Model L may have a slow rate of fire, but it’s easy to control and provides decent enough damage to make for a calculated and respectable weapon at the mid-range, which is great considering how many maps utilize this zoning. However, the Model L shouldn’t be wasted for those seeking to grow their prestige rank.

There is a wide variety of different weapons in Black Ops 6, from Submachine Guns to Sniper Rifles. Here are the best weapons in Black Ops 6, ranked!

The Model L can be permanently unlocked at Prestige 2 – Level 50, and while that may seem like it’s quite some time away, it’s more than worth it to save a prestige token, since players will have this weapon forever to grind through to Prestige Master. On top of unlocking a new Blueprint, the weapon actually becomes the beloved STG-44 from Call of Duty: World at War.

6 LR 7.62

A Decent Sniper Rifle That Can Be Unlocked for Free

lr 7.62

The LR 7.62 is also a competent sniper rifle and serves players well against the other selections that they can make. A bolt-action that is one-shot and one-kill for any Operator, and is great in the right hands of an eagle-eyed player, but why waste a prestige token when it can be acquired for free?

Jump into the Black Ops 6 Campaign and complete The Cradle mission, and players will unlock the Onyx Echo Blueprint for the LR 7.62. It’s well worth doing for the attachments that this weapon comes with, and the fact that it easily becomes a permanent unlock.

5 Bruiser

A Perk 2 Item Reserved for Melee Builds

The Bruiser Perk exists for the Enforcer Combat Speciality and reads “Melee kills and finishing moves replenish health and earn extra score”. While this is a Perk that has an unlocked level so far away, a prestige token isn’t required, as Enforcer isn’t the most essential Combat Specialist, nor is it better than the alternative, Assassin.

With Bruiser equipped, players are going to rely too heavily on a melee build, even though melee weapons are not one-hit kills, nor does this Perk change that. Bruiser will just heal players for melee kills, which works fine on Zombies, but not in the rapid-fire of Multiplayer.

4 Scavenger

A Perk 1 Item Dependent on Not Dying

Scavenger exists for the Perk One slot and benefits those who want to use the Enforcer Combat Specialty. However, Perk One already has 2 other Enforcer Perks, and this one is by far the weakest of the bunch due to its stats: “Resupply ammo and Equipment from killed enemies.

Considering how fast-paced the combat is with Black Ops 6, scavenging ammo off of enemies isn’t the greatest idea unless players are sweating for a tactical nuke since players can just pick up an enemy’s gun, or die and respawn with their ammo.

3 Prox Alarm

A Tactical Equipment That Alerts Campers

The Prox Alarm will only aid campers since it’s a set of two sticky alarms that will both ring and flash once an enemy draws near. Those who trip the Prox Alarm are revealed on allied minimaps, but considering combat can get so hectic, so fast, it’s not really worth it.

Black Ops 6 has an abundance of Multiplayer modes for players to enjoy and compete in, from competitive, casual, and party modes.

Tactical equipment is best used for stun grenades and concussion grenades, things that will slow and deter players to make them an easy kill. The Prox Alarm is just to keep players mildly safe when they are in a camping spot.

2 Molotov

Slow Ticking-Damage for a Mediocre Blaze

molotov lethal equipment

Despite being over halfway through the Level Unlocks in Black Ops 6, the Molotov is a piece of lacking lethal equipment that is best left alone. The Molotov can provide some support by creating a patch of flames on the ground that prevent enemies from entering that specific zone, but it doesn’t last all that long.

It’s better to use an actual explosive for lethal equipment, something that can quickly explode and provide an easy and unexpected kill rather than a weapon that might scorch someone briefly.

1 Danger Close

Spawn With Two Lethal Equipment

The right Wildcard can change everything, and one Wildcard that is definitely not worth the price of a permanent unlock from a prestige token is Danger Close. While spawning in with two pieces of lethal equipment sounds nice on paper, larger-sized maps aren’t going to see any real benefits, and it’s just something to use off of spawn.

A spawn spam throwable is fun for maps like Nuketown, but Danger Close isn’t going to see much action outside of that when players have a variety of investments to place their prestige tokens into.
