How To Play As Mr Satan In Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has a massive roster of characters, even if you remove all the many Gokus and Vegetas. Adding even new characters from the new Dragon Ball entries like Super and Daima, we are glad that there was also room for even joke characters like Mr Satan.

Damage values may vary depending on your opponent’s character.

Mr Satan is treated in the game as the weakest character, and both his moves and stats reflect this. He only has two health bars, can’t fly, and throws rocks instead of Ki Blasts, which still deal damage and cost Ki, but are very hard to aim with minimal to no tracking.

However, he starts matches with three Skill Count and a full Ki bar, letting him use his skills or enter sparking almost immediately, depending on your playstyle. He also has one of the fastest Ki charge rates among all characters, meaning that he can use any opening to charge back to full Ki.

Mr Satan In Versus And Online Matches

Unless you’re trying to prove a point, you often don’t want to pick Mr Satan in online matches, at least not when you are evenly matched in skill against your opponent. It isn’t impossible to win as him since he can still do vanish attacks and grabs, but you’ll be at a clear disadvantage.

His role in the game, however, revolves around his low DP cost. When picking characters for DP battles, you may only have one point left, and the only character in the whole game that costs a single DP point is Mr. Satan; in that scenario, you might as well learn how to use him.

Strategy

As soon as the fight starts, you want to activate False Courage. Since you start with three Skill Counts, you might be tempted to start with Royal Raiment?!, but you’d be spending your entire Skill Count on offensive buffs that you’re not really going to use, and you’d be missing the flinch prevention that False Courage brings.

Mr Satan’s Skill Count only goes up to four, so even in drawn-out matches you should avoid using Royal Raiment?!, since you won’t be able to spam too many ultimates.

We say that you won’t use offensive buffs because most of your damage will come from your Blast moves, specifically Present Bomb and Mr. Buu Arrives!. You shouldn’t ever use Dynamite Kick, since the gamble isn’t worth the risk of dealing no damage and wasting three Ki Bars.

Present Bomb

You can spam these moves due to the previously mentioned fast Ki Charge rate, letting Mr. Satan spam several Blast Super attacks in very quick succession. Present Bomb is the main move you’ll use to harass your opponent since it is unblockable, and has fantastic tracking, as opposed to most Rush Supers in the game.

Most players don’t know that Present Bomb is unblockable, so use that to your advantage.

Although Present Bomb isn’t considered a ‘speed impact,’ you can still challenge your opponent’s Rush attacks with it. It may do potentially less damage than Dynamite Kick, but it should be your bread and butter to answer all of your opponent’s moves, except Energy Blast supers.

Mr Buu Arrives!

Your most damaging move is, unsurprisingly, Mr Buu Arrives!, and you should aim to hit your opponent with it whenever possible. In a Ki charge race, you will often come out on top, so don’t be afraid of letting them charge, since you’ll often be able to interrupt them after you hit Sparking.

The best setup for your Ultimate is to set False Courage right after hitting Sparking since you need to combo them into a vulnerable state, so Mr Buu Arrives! can connect. That move doesn’t share the tracking of Present Bomb, so you’ll have to be more careful with your aiming.
