Call Of Duty Fans Discover Nuketown Easter Egg In Black Ops 6

Call Of Duty Fans Discover Nuketown Easter Egg In Black Ops 6

Key Takeaways

  • One of the best parts about the return to Black Ops is the return of Nuketown.
  • The fan-favorite map is back in Black Ops 6 with a more back-to-basics approach.
  • That said, it still retains its previous hidden Easter Egg.
  • This year’s iteration has the mannequins coming alive in a very horror-inspired theme.

It’s not a Black Ops game without the presence of the fan-favorite map, Nuketown. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 officially out around the world, Treyarch went back to basics for this iteration of the retro-inspired locale. Indeed, this year’s Nuketown map is eerily reminiscent of the map in the original Black Ops, dishing out a much-needed boost of nostalgia.

The”wide linear” design that gave us some of Uncharted and The Last of Us’ best levels comes to COD.

That said, just like it isn’t a Black Ops game without Nuketown, it isn’t Nuketown without some sort of Easter Egg. And with Season 01 officially live, so too has this year’s Nuketown Easter Egg also been activated. And it didn’t take long for fans to figure it out.

The Mannequins Have Eyes

To start, the Easter Egg can seemingly only be triggered when playing a private game of Infected on Nuketown, though if you happen to get into a public lobby, then it may also work. From there, it’s as easy as shooting the heads off every mannequin on the map. Only then will the Easter Egg commence.

From there, a retro-inspired TV screen with the tagline “Signal Lost, Stand By” will appear before turning the game’s high-end graphics into a more throwback grainy feel. That’s not all, though.

Those mannequins you destroyed? Well, they’ve come alive and will begin attacking the player. Oh, and there happens to be a bleacher section of other mannequins watching their friends take you down. If you try and shoot at the spectators, not only will they begin to jeer at you, but they’ll also start unloading flashbangs.

With the Easter Egg in effect, it becomes a game of survival against the many mannequins that populate the map. According to one YouTuber, the game might crash if you are attacked, though it’s unclear if that’s a bug or part of the intended experience. Either way, be careful what you do in Nuketown because those mannequins are always watching.
