Key Takeaways
- Activision has reduced the number of COD Points available in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Battle Pass.
- Players could previously earn 1,400 COD Points in Call of Duty’s Battle Pass, but can now only earn 1,100 with Season 1.
- The community has called the reduction “lame,” with some urging players to not purchase the Battle Pass due to the decision.
Activision has made a controversial change to Call of Duty‘s Battle Pass with the launch of Black Ops 6 Season 1, as progressing through the Pass now only returns a total of 1,100 COD Points, as opposed to the previous amount of 1,400. While the number of COD Points returned to players for progressing through the entire Black Ops 6 Battle Pass is still enough to purchase the next Pass, fans can no longer save their COD Points to purchase any bundles from the in-game store due to the change.
After Black Ops 6‘s massively successful launch on October 25, publisher Activision and developer Treyarch continued the Call of Duty hype train by launching a massive new content update earlier this week. Season 1 not only brought with it a plethora of new multiplayer maps and modes for the latest shooter, but also made some big adjustments to the game’s Battle Royale counterpart, Call of Duty: Warzone. Both titles can level up the Season 1 Battle Pass simultaneously while also jumping into all of the new content that the very first season has to offer.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Now Gives Less COD Points With Season 1 Battle Pass
While the Black Ops 6 Season 1 Battle Pass is filled to the brim with new cosmetic items for players to unlock, fans have been left disappointed after it was discovered that Activision has reduced the number of COD Points available in the Battle Pass (as reported by CharlieIntel). In previous titles, such as last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, players could purchase the Battle Pass and, if fully completed before the season came to an end, could see a return of 1,400 COD Points. This was just enough points to spend on the next season’s Battle Pass and to still have a few hundred left over to save for a store bundle. Now, however, completing the entire Battle Pass will only reward players with 1,100 COD Points, a decrease of 300 Points.
As expected, the controversial change hasn’t gone down well with fans. Twitter user JC said the change is “super lame,” while others, such as Imswaciey, urged players not to purchase the Battle Pass or Blackcell in order to “let them feel it.” This also isn’t the only disappointment surrounding the game’s first season, as Black Ops 6 players were left outraged by the recent playlist changes, mainly due to the removal of the popular Stakeout 24/7 playlist, which allowed users to play nothing but Stakeout with a variety of different game modes.
Black Ops 6‘s Season 1 update might have already had a few disappointments, but there’s still plenty of new content for players to check out. Three new multiplayer maps are available right now, with even more on the way as part of Season 1 Reloaded, alongside new weapons, game modes, operator skins, and much more. As for Warzone players, there’s a new Resurgence map known as Area 99, a fresh UI overhaul, and the introduction of various Black Ops 6 features, such Omnimovement.
