Players need only step into the game’s beautiful recreation of Hogwarts Castle to find many Hogwarts Legacy secrets hidden around almost every corner. And it’s not only within Hogwarts’ grounds where players can discover various secret rooms and locations that they might otherwise miss. Players can travel across the game’s massive open world to find secrets in other parts of the map. Of course, it’s not just about repeatedly pressing the Revelio button to reveal secrets in Hogwarts Legacy. Many of Hogwarts Legacy’s secrets are tucked away behind all kinds of barriers, from door unlocks to puzzles and even secrets hidden in plain sight or accessible by specific spells. In no particular order, this update adds three new entries, giving players even more Hogwarts Legacy secrets to tick off their list.

1 Detention Chamber

An Unlockable Room That’s Hiding A Dark Past

• Location – Behind a level two locked door in the Slytherin Dungeon, up the stairs past the Lower Grand Staircase Floo Flame.

While Revelio is an essential spell in Hogwarts Legacy, players must learn the art of picking locks to uncover all of Hogwarts Legacy‘s secrets. One room hidden out of sight is the Detention Chamber, a location with a dark past. According to the Detention Field Guide Page, it allegedly served as the school’s preferred location for punishing students with physical torture, a practice since abolished.

Some noteworthy features include paintings that shush occupants and a gallery of rules on one wall. While completely different rules in a different time, the styles of these frames look similar to Professor Umbridge’s various decrees imposed in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It’s certainly easy to imagine Umbridge enjoying the days of torture at Hogwarts if she’d been around.

2 The Chamber of Secrets Bathroom

A Subtle Nod To Salazar Slytherin’s Secret

Another Hogwarts Legacy secret tucked away in the Slytherin Dungeon which some players could unknowingly stroll past is the Chamber of Secrets Bathroom. Hidden in plain sight, players can enter the girls’ bathroom here to find Salazar Slytherin’s secret sink entrance to the Chamber of Secrets.

Although players can’t enter the Chamber, they can collect a Field Guide Page near the Sink that hints at the Chamber of Secrets entrance and points to a strange snake symbol on one of the taps. On closer inspection, players can spot a small symbol on the right side of the tap opposite the entrance to the room. While more of a Hogwarts Legacy Easter Egg, it’s a feature that some players could easily miss.

3 Gryffindor Common Room Secret Storage Room

A Grandfather Clock Guarding A Hidden Room

Like other Hogwarts House common rooms, there are also several Gryffindor common room secrets to uncover in Hogwarts Legacy. One of these is a secret room cleverly hidden behind a Grandfather Clock in one corner of the room. When players stand next to the clock, it opens up as a hidden doorway that players can enter to find the Gryffindor common room secret storage room.

The room contains features like various lion statues, trophies, a painting, chairs stacked as high as the ceiling, and other miscellaneous items. In the corner of the room, players can also find a level three chest to open.

4 The Secret Quidditch Room In The Library Fireplace

A Secret Room For Quidditch Fans To Enjoy

• Location – Behind the fireplace in the Hogwarts Castle Library (in the Library Annex)

Hogwarts Legacy‘s recreation of Hogwarts Castle has several grand fireplaces decorating its beautifully detailed rooms, but some hold secrets behind their flames. Players who use the Glacius spell to freeze the fireplace in front of the globe in the Library can enter a tiny room that seems dedicated to Quidditch. There are moving Quidditch paintings on the wall, including one of a student flying on a broom in front of Hogwarts Castle.

Additionally, there are a couple of posters on the walls depicting Quidditch teams called the Montrose Magpies and Chudley Cannons, a tapestry, and some other ornaments to check out. While the Library is a sizable space, players can find the secret room behind the fireplace on the first floor, not far from the entrance to the Restricted Section.

5 A Niffler Tea Party With A View

Also overlooking Hogsmeade and the Quidditch pitch, players can find this adorable tea party spot by climbing to the top of the cliff, as pictured on the map above. At the top, players can find two plushies that seem to be enjoying a tea party, including a cute Niffler. Players can also drink the cups of tea, which automatically refills after around five seconds.

It’s a Hogwarts Legacy secret that many players could easily miss, given its small area in the open landscape surrounding the castle and its height.

6 The Tilted House

A Quirky And Cozy Countryside Location Worth A Visit

Heading south of Hogwarts Castle and into the countryside, players can find a quirky and cozy Tilted House in the village of Keenbridge as pictured on the map above. It’s a wonky house uprooted by an adjoining tree that looks like something straight out of a fairy tale. While not strictly hidden, it’s a secret location that not all players may know about. Stepping inside the Tilted House can feel a bit strange with its off-kilter flooring, making it one of the more unique places to visit beyond Hogwarts Castle.

Inside the house, players can find a chest and sack to open, plus a bowl of treats and a tankard to consume. There’s also a painting above the fireplace, which could presumably be of the owner of this cozy cottage-style location, and a Hogwarts Valley field guide page to collect for the Tilted House.

7 Secret Fireplace Room

Professor Sharp’s Surprisingly Well-Hidden Recreational Room

• Location – Behind the fireplace inside Professor Sharp’s room on the second floor of the Faculty Tower near the Hospital Wing.

Sometimes, Hogwarts Legacy‘s secrets hide in plain sight. At least, that’s the case with the seemingly normal-looking fireplace inside Professor Sharp’s living quarters. However, if players cast Glacius on the large fireplace, the spell freezes the flames, enabling them to creep inside to find a secret room filled with wood crafting tools and drawings.

Various sketches adorn the room, and players can activate the gramophone to hear the clock chime. It’s also worth studying the drawings of various Hogwarts Legac y locations. This spot is one of the few fireplaces in the castle holding this neat trick.

8 Secret Death Day Party Room

The Death Day Party room is another of Hogwarts Legacy‘s secret rooms that’s easy to miss. It’s a blue, candle-lit room full of ghosts dancing and chatting, giving players a little behind-the-scenes snippet of ghost life in Hogwarts Castle and a field guide page.

One of the best ways to find this well-hidden secret room is to travel to the Viaduct Courtyard Floo Flame, enter the Grant Staircase entrance, and take a right down the narrow spiral stairs leading to the Slytherin Dungeon. Players can follow the path left until they find a locked level one Alohomora gate on the left side of the corridor leading to the room.

9 Statue Storage Room

A Small Room With A Potentially Dangerous Painting

• Location – A small room near the Bell Tower Courtyard.

Often, seemingly small, insignificant rooms in Hogwarts Castle hide strange delights. One secret room near the Hogwarts Legacy’s Bell Tower Courtyard holds a perplexing mystery. While the room is mainly full of statues, a painting in the middle briefly turns you to stone after interacting with it. It’s probably not a pleasant surprise, but it’s another detail players might easily pass unnoticed.

Why the painting does this and who placed it there remains a mystery, but at least it is kept under a magical lock and key, as players must solve the door puzzle to get inside.

10 Cursed Tomb Secret Entrance

A Desolate Crypt Full Of Danger

• Location – Just above the West Manor Cape Floo Flame.

On the West Manor Cape Coast, it might seem like players can only access the nearby mansion’s secrets via a level three locked door. However, that’s not necessarily the case. Providing players can wield a fire spell like Incendio or Confringo they can ignite the bowl in front of the ominous statue opposite the mansion to reveal a hidden switch. When stepped on, this secret switch takes players to the creepy, tomb-like crypt below.

More Inferius enemies and an Infamous Foe await below, plus a chest containing a treasure map that triggers Hogwarts Legacy’s Cursed Tomb side quest. However, players must search elsewhere to find the Cursed Tomb’s location, but this pathway provides a head start.

11 Tomb Of The Villager

An Area That Is Only Accessible At Night

• Location – Inside the Hogsmeade Graveyard (opposite the West Hogsmeade Floo Flame).

There are even more Hogwarts Legacy secrets related to tombs to discover on the outskirts of the idyllic village of Hogsmeade but with a twist. One particular tomb is easily missed as a secret location in Hogsmeade’s Graveyard, as it only becomes accessible at night.

Once inside, players can find the Key of Admittance to access more hidden areas. It’s also a beautiful room worth taking the time to discover, with its cozy, celestial blue design and intricate window overlooking the grounds.

13 Quill Of Acceptance And Book Of Admittance Secret Room

A Hidden Room That Contains A Major Reference To Harry Potter Lore

The Quill of Acceptance and Book of Admittance belong to one of Hogwarts Legacy‘s secret rooms near the Headmaster’s Office, which also doubles as a collectible field guide page location. To find this hidden room, players must unlock the tricky Headmaster’s office door puzzle near the trophy room in the Grand Staircase area of the Hogwarts map.

It’s a cool-looking secret that’s also very important, as the collectible field guide page explains the animated quill and book placed by Hogwarts’ Founders and records every prospective Hogwarts student when they show signs of magic.

14 Hufflepuff Common Room’s Secret Sweets Room

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban fans may wonder if it’s possible to journey into the One-Eyed Witch passage from the movie. Well, it is. In Hogwarts Legacy‘s Descending for Sweets side quest, players can open a hidden One-Eyed Witch statue doorway and travel the secret passage to an explorable Honeydukes’ cellar in Hogsmeade.

Exploring the passage unseen in the Harry Potter movies and sneaking around Honeydukes for sweets feels magical. It’s a Hogwarts Legacy secret that’s easily missable if players don’t complete this particular side quest.

16 The Hogsmeade Player Shop

Players who missed out on the quest and the shop may want to check out the boarded-up shop in Hogsmeade village and chat with Penny the House Elf sweeping outside to begin the quest. While the shop’s customization options are limited, the quest that unlocks it is tremendously fun, and it’s a secret location that could be easily missed by those who don’t know about it.

17 The Viaduct Courtyard Bridge’s Secrets

A Hidden Underpassage That Unlocks After Solving A Puzzle

• Location – Near Hogwarts Castle Central Hall.

Hogwarts Castle is bursting with puzzles that sometimes lead players to secret locations, like Hogwarts Legacy‘s viaduct courtyard bridge puzzle. To find it, players should look for the bridge with braziers and several manholes near Central Hall. One is a hidden pathway to an underground chamber. However, players must solve the bridge puzzle to open it by lighting the braziers with a fire spell like Incendio and moving the symbols in the correct order.

Once the bridge puzzle solution is complete, the manhole opens, allowing players to dive into a secret sewer passageway beneath the bridge to find two collection chests and a legendary chest. It also completes one of Hogwarts Legacy‘s secret challenges.

18 The Blocked Balcony

An Exterior Location That Can Only Be Reached From With The Castle

• Location – Via the Hogwarts Castle main entrance.

Flying around Hogwarts on one of Hogwarts Legacy‘s brooms allows players to spot all kinds of details from above, including another secret location. Near Hogwarts Castle’s main entrance, players can find a tower with two chests and no direct way to land on its balcony. However, the key is to reach the location from elsewhere.

Entering the school through the Bell Tower Courtyard Floo Flame, players should go up the right stairway and follow the stairs up and around to reach the top of the Bell Tower balcony from the inside. Once there, players can find a treasure chest containing a mysterious legendary item and a frog statue that transports them to the other side of the balcony to discover more chests with a magnificent red wand handle inside.

19 The Mysterious Blue Door

A Room Only Accessible By Interacting With An Unusual Statue

• Location – A corridor between the Faculty Tower and Gryffindor Tower.

While exploring Hogwarts Castle, some players might have spotted a mysterious blue door above a corridor that is seemingly unreachable, and most might even miss it altogether. However, it is possible to reach it. Players can find the door overlooking the stairs next to the base of the Faculty Tower in the South Wing, just in front of the bottom of Gryffindor Tower.

The blue frog statue is positioned on the corner of the curved stairwell at the top of the stairs. Interacting with it teleports players to the secret room behind the door, a small storeroom containing a chest with a wand handle inside, another well-hidden Hogwarts Legacy secret hidden in plain sight.

20 The Secret Werewolf Tapestry Room

Exploring the stairwells at Hogwarts will eventually lead players to a tapestry on a wall with a K emblazoned on it. At first glance, there’s not much that is remarkable about the tapestry, and it’s easy to stroll right past without a second thought. However, the K is a secret door that leads to Hogwarts Legacy‘s secret werewolf tapestry room.

This werewolf will seem quite familiar to Harry Potter fans, as it looks similar to the one Professor Lupin transforms into in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. There is also a chest in the second room where players can claim a Royal Maroon Coat. Players can also interact with tapestries to uncover a tragic werewolf tale.
