Berserk Chapter 388: Silat Vs. Rakshas

Berserk Chapter 388: Silat Vs. Rakshas

This post contains spoilers for Berserk.

Key Takeaways

  • The Kushan Empire will try to take down Griffith’s Falconia.
  • Rakshas opens astral gates, causing destruction.
  • Rakshas is powerful, putting him ahead in a potential fight against Silat.

Berserk Chapter 388 picked up where things were left in the previous chapter. It started with the chief of the Northern clan being killed by Rakshas. As the chief was writhing with pain, Daiba knew that something was afoot, so he warned everyone to step back. In next to no time, Rakshas emerged, and Silat recognized him immediately.

The others attending the Kurultai also knew about Rakshas. They were also aware that he was the first Bakiraka to be exiled. Instead of attacking the Kushans, Rakshas seemed to be introspecting. But his thinking was interrupted by the screams of the Kushans. The noise triggered Rakshas, and he decided to strike them down.

Thankfully, Silat had already made preparations in case things went awry. He had ordered his soldiers to dress up as waiters to protect the people in the area. Daiba also warned the soldiers not to get carried away even if they outnumbered Rakshas. With no other option left, the apostle used his power to open the Astral Gates, resulting in a massive tornado appearing over the sky.

In next to no time, trolls from the Qliphoth domain began to manifest. The trolls started attacking the Kushans, and it became rather obvious that the city would be decimated in no time. Farnese nearly fell prey to one of the trolls, but luckily, Serpico was nearby, and he saved her. Seeing Rakshas’ power shocked Daiba, who realized that the former was no longer a regular apostle. Towards the end of the chapter, Rakshas and Silat are seen charging towards each other.

Rkashas Vs. Silat Could Be Very One-Sided

SIlant And Rakshas Have A History

  • SIlat is experienced but doesn’t have the same level of power
  • He needs help from others

The chapter ended before they could engage in a proper duel. Rakshas’ demonstration of power puts him in the driving seat, and any sensible person will put their money on the apostle winning the fight. Not only is Rakshas skilled as an assassin, but he also seems to have gained the power to open astral gates and control demonic beasts. Rakshas’ Od has also grown more powerful, as noticed by Daiba, Farnese, and other people in the area.

The young master…I remember. –Rakshas

While Silat is a capable character, there is no chance that he can compete with someone like Rakshas. The leader of the Bakiraka would do well just to survive and see another day. Silat will need help from his allies to take down Rakshas. Otherwise, the apostle will hurt Silat and continue rampaging through the Kushan empire. There is a small chance that Rakshas might not kill Silat because he seems to have respect for him. In the chapter, he even called Silat “the young master.”

Who Else Will Join The Battle Against Rakshas?

On the final page of Chapter 388, fans saw Guts sweating profusely. Despite the speculation that Guts might be freed soon, it seems that the Kushans want to try and handle the situation by themselves. They pride themselves on being tough, but their ego might cost them dearly. Serpico and Farnese are already aware of the situation, and they are heading towards the place where the Od is the strongest.

Farnese has become quite efficient at using magic, and she is the group’s best bet since Schierke is still unconscious. Serpico, her half brother, is accompanying her. Serpico has already proven himself capable of handling all kinds of dangers. His job will be to keep Farnese safe while she deals with the source of the Od. There is a chance that stopping the flow of Od could weaken Raksahas and help SIlat deal with the outcast.

Will Guts Be Liberated In The Next Chapter?

Guts Needs To Join The Battle Soon

guts is still trapped

Guts has been in captivity for the last few chapters, so he hasn’t been involved in any kind of action lately. Berserk fans obviously want to see him back so that he can start pummeling Rakshas and the trolls. However, there is no indication that Silat or anyone else is thinking of freeing Guts. The only person who doesn’t seem to have his hands full is Rickert, and he knows that Guts is a capable fighter who can take down all kinds of demonic beasts.

If Guts is freed, he will immediately head towards Rakshas’ location to fight the apostle. He has a lot of experience fighting apostles. Guts has even fought Grunbeld in the past, who has arguably the most physical strength out of all of Griffith’s generals. However, Rakshas is going to be a tricky opponent for Guts. Rakshas is nimble, so he can avoid the strikes from the Dragon Slayer rather easily. Additionally, he seems to have gained the power to open the Astral Gates. In this situation, Schierke would be Guts’ best ally. She is well-versed in magic and Od. With her guidance, Guts will be able to deal with Rakshas. Given how the chapter ended, fans will be hoping that the next one comes out soon.
