Fans of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic also got their fair share of exciting news. World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic is now officially scheduled for release in Summer 2025, allowing players to relive the 2012 expansion. Mists of Pandaria Classic will bring back the playable Pandaren race, Monk class, and even pet battles, along with all the Dungeons, Raids, and Scenarios the expansion had to offer. Players old and new will set sail to the beautiful and mysterious island of Pandaria to discover a land of magnificent jade forests and jagged karst outcrops regarded as some of the most beautiful regions in World of Warcraft‘s 20-year history.
Mists of Pandaria is Officially Continuing World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic
Although Mists of Pandaria was the obvious follow-up to Cataclysm Classic, the WoW community had previously debated how far the re-releases of old expansions would continue, especially since the recent WoW: Remix Timerunning event had brought players back to Pandaria once already. While Wrath of the Lich King is commonly regarded as the golden era of WoW, the tonal shift that began in Cataclysm and continued in Mists of Pandaria left many players longing for the slower pace of the original game. However, in a bizarre twist of fate, Blizzard also announced a 20th Anniversary re-release of World of Warcraft Classic coming on November 21, allowing players to once more relive the journey through Azeroth from the ground up, on new servers with fresh economies.
Other exciting announcements from the 30th Anniversary Direct stream include the return of Plunderstorm and the shadow release of remastered editions of Warcraft: Orc and Humans and Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness, the original RTS strategy games that started the monumental franchise. However, many long-time fans are even more thrilled about the introduction of an ambitious cut feature originally planned for World of Warcraft’s original 2004 release. Players will finally be able to own their own houses in World of Warcraft: Midnight, the next chapter of the WorldSoul Saga.
