When you first start playing Sengoku Dynasty, you’ll only have to focus on stacking up a few resources including stone, copper, sticks, grass, and wood. However, as you progress in the game, the sheer amount and types of resources you need multiply, but you also start getting help collecting them.

Sengoku Dynasty: How To Get Bamboo
If you want to liberate different regions in Sengoku Dynasty, you’ll need to find a lot of bamboo along the way.
As you assign your villagers to various tasks and make them grind for the older resources, you’ll likely have to get most of the endgame resources yourself, and leather is one of them. This one asks you to fulfill a few requirements first as well.
How To Get Leather In Sengoku Dynasty
The first thing you’ll need in order to start creating Leather in your own village, which is the main method of acquiring the resource, is unlocking the Tanning Vat. This structure can be created inside the Tailor Workshop, but you’ll first need to liberate the Segi region to unlock it, which has various requirements.
Once you unlock the Vat, it’ll require ten pieces of clay and stone each to build. After creating the structure, you’ll simply need to put one fur, two bark, and two water in it to create one Leather. Here’s how you can get these items:
Fur |
You can extract it by skinning an animal you hunt. Bigger animals provide more fur, and you can also increase its amount by upgrading the Animal Trophy Hunter perk in the Way of the Warrior section of the Legend. |
---|---|
Bark |
This can be acquired by chopping a tree until it turns into logs and then debarking those logs. |
Water |
You can easily get water from normal or advanced wells using buckets. It’s recommended to use a villager for this task to accumulate water over time. |
You can also assign a villager to the Tanning Vat for regular Leather crafting, but you’ll need a constant supply of the three items above.
What Is Leather Used For?
You’ll not see a lot of leather uses until the late game, when it’ll become one of the most important resources. You’ll first need Leather to craft the Half Bow or the Longbow. These can both be created at the Hunter’s Hut, and you’ll need to make them consistently.
Once you get to the steel age, you’ll also need Leather to craft all the steel equipment including axe, adze, and pickaxe. Since these tools run out fairly quickly when in use, this will be your main Leather expenditure.
