Undisputed Releases First Big Update for November 2024

Undisputed Releases First Big Update for November 2024

Key Takeaways

  • Steel City Interactive releases surprise update for Undisputed on November 14.
  • Patch notes include changes to block functionality to reduce power punch spam, Deontay Wilder nerf, and more.
  • Second Undisputed still planned for mid-December with new features, improvements, and content.

Undisputed developer Steel City Interactive has surprised fans with a new patch update after previously stating that the boxing title would not be updated until mid-December. Despite being in early access for almost two years before its full release in October, Undisputed launched with a myriad of bugs and balancing issues that have plagued the game for weeks now. But following the release of today’s update, fans should see a noticeable difference in their gameplay experience.

Following its full release in October, Undisputed received mixed reviews from players as many believed the boxing game actually felt better to play during its early access period. One month on and the game now has a mostly negative review rating in terms of recent user reviews, with an overall ‘mixed’ rating. One of player’s biggest complaints is concerning power punches, as they are incredibly overpowered, resulting in any online game becoming a spam-fest to see who can land the same shot repeatedly and put their opponent down first. Thankfully, one of today’s fixes aims to improve the block function to prevent power punches from breaking through with ease.

EA Sports UFC 5 Releases New Fighter Update for November 2024

EA Sports UFC 5 deploys a brand-new patch update on November 7, making a handful of bug fixes, improvements, and adding two new fighters.

Alongside Undisputed‘s power punch problem was an overpowered Deontay Wilder, who had quickly become the meta fighter online due to his insane power. When coupled with the power punch issue, going up against Wilder was a recipe for disaster. However, according to the official patch notes for the November 14 update, Steel City has reduced the heavyweight’s stats and removed a trait. The studio says that Wilder’s power hooks should now be less impactful. Currently, Wilder is the only fighter to receive any sort of stat adjustment since the title was released, but with more updates on the way, fans could see even more nerfs and buffs in the future.

Following a huge outcry from fans, Steel City shared the disappointing news that Undisputed‘s first update wouldn’t be arriving until mid-December. Clearly, that is no longer the case, as Steel City says it has been working on fixes for several weeks and is now able to deploy an interim update while still maintaining plans for another update to arrive next month. According to the studio, December’s update will not only include more bug fixes and improvements, but new features and content.

It’s currently unclear what fans can expect from the December update, but there are plenty of fixes with today’s patch that should greatly improve the overall experience. While there’s no confirmation just yet, it’s possible that new fighters will be added to the game in future updates as fans were left massively disappointed after Undisputed removed Ryan Garcia shortly before the game’s launch. Another common complaint from fans is that the title doesn’t include enough active fighters to choose from, but with Steel City clearly committed to improving Undisputed, there’s hope that the game’s roster will continue to expand with future updates.

Undisputed Patch Notes For November 14 Update

  • Changes to the block colliders to ensure that block functions as expected and the number of power punches that break through the block is greatly reduced.
  • Deontay Wilder’s stats have been reduced, and we’ve removed a trait. His power hooks should now be less impactful.
  • Increased max stamina cost of hooks and straights.
  • Increased the cost of power punches to both short-term and max stamina.
  • Introduced a threshold on the number of power punches that can be thrown within a single fight before the stamina cost per power punch is increased further.
  • Increased the stamina cost of pushing, which should reduce the amount of people spamming the push mechanic.
  • Temporarily removed the critical stumble reaction from the game as it was too punishing.
  • Reduced the effectiveness and chainability of hooks by further slowing them down when a fighter is gassed.
  • Fixed an issue that would prevent players from moving if they entered flat-footed movement while fighting on the inside.
  • On Xbox and PC Steam: Ranked quitters should now receive a loss on their record, and the remaining player should receive a win. The fix for PlayStation is taking longer than we’d like and will hopefully be part of the December update.

Another update will be released in mid-December, which will contain further bug fixes as well as new features, improvements, and content for you to enjoy. There will also be plenty more to come in 2025.
