TMNT: Splintered Fate – Best Shuriken Build

TMNT: Splintered Fate - Best Shuriken Build

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate features a fast-paced, rogue-like experience where every build decision determines your chances of survival. Much like the way certain weapons define your combat approach in Hades, a well-optimized Shuriken build in Splintered Fate allows players to clear rooms of enemies with agility and precision.

With the right combination of skill upgrades, a single Shuriken can be enhanced into a cluster of Shurikens that only multiply with each attack or dash. With the screen full of flying Shurikens in every direction, your relentless attacks from a distance easily handle swarms and wear down the tougher enemies. Here’s how to build the best shuriken setup to maximize your efficiency and combat effectiveness in TMNT: Splintered Fate.

Beating Shredder does not mark the end. The only way to save Splinter is to unlock the true ending in TMNT: Splintered Fate. Here’s how.

How to Make a Shuriken Build In TMNT: Splintered Fate

TMNT Splintered Fate - Shuriken Storm

While you can choose any Turtle for the Shuriken build, Leonardo gives you a bit of a jumping start. His default tool throws three Shurikens in a cone, which can be upgraded during a run to throw more Shurikens. Since the entire build is about spamming Shurikens, and any upgrades for Shurikens carry over to his tool, Leonardo is the perfect Turtle for this build.

Best Turtle Powers and Tools

TMNT Splintered Fate - Ninja Powers

Focus only on Ninja when choosing your Turtle Powers or upgrades in Splintered Fate. This category contains all the core components for a Shuriken build. While other rewards such as Flame or Ultrom stack with your Shurikens to deal bonus damage, you must first take Ninja to start the build. Otherwise, your Shurikens will be too weak in the final rooms.

Here are the room rewards that you must focus on. They are arranged in order of priority, but if the RNG is not in your favor, you can focus on the latter until the former appears.

Turtle Power

Description

Shuriken Attacks

Your basic attacks have a chance to throw a Shuriken forward.

Extended Assault

You throw a Shuriken forward at the start of your Dash.

Quick Hands

You increase the number of Shurikens thrown.

Throwing Arts: Chakram

Your thrown Shurikens return to your current position like a boomerang.

Throwing Arts: Ricochet (Optional)

Your thrown Shurikens ricochet between enemies.

Shuriken Breaker

Your Shurikens apply Guard Break to enemies, forcing them to take more damage.

Additionally, some powerful Tools pair excellently with the Shuriken build in Splintered Fate. Even if you are playing as Leonardo, these Tools are a massive upgrade. However, note that you can only have one Tool at a time. Choosing a second Tool will replace your first one.

Tool

Description

Tool: Shuriken Storm

You throw eight Shurikens at nearby enemies to deal physical damage

Tool: Ultrom Shuriken (Recommended)

You throw two Electric Shurikens at nearby enemies to deal Ultrom damage.

Tool: Ooze Shuriekn

You throw two Ooze Shurikens at nearby enemies to deal Ooze damage.

Do not be afraid to pick
Quick Feet
for an additional Dash Charge. Since the whole build is about dashing around the screen to auto-throw Shurikens, having an extra dash means an extra attack.

How the Shuriken Build Plays in Splintered Fate

TMNT Splintered Fate - Ninja Build

Once you get Shuriken Attacks and Extended Assault, your Turtle becomes a crowd-control machine. Dash into enemies for the Shuriken hits, land some basic attacks, and dash out before enemies box you in. After getting one of the Throwing Arts, keep your distance and focus only on dashing around the arena.

Remember that you are invulnerable to damage for a brief second while dashing. Hence, rely on your Shurikens to deal damage instead of a melee fight, especially against champion enemies with the orange health bars.

Do not make the mistake of going all in because that just ruins the purpose of the Shuriken build. By timing your attacks and weaving through the battlefield, you can chip away at even the most durable foes without putting yourself in harm’s way.

Use the Shuriken’s multi-target capabilities to thin out enemy groups, prioritizing weaker opponents first to make space for attacking larger threats. Many skills within the Shuriken build amplify this strength by increasing Shuriken damage or allowing them to ricochet off enemies and walls. These abilities make the Shuriken a formidable tool for handling densely packed rooms.

Pairing Shuriken with Critical skills such as Raphael’s Inspiration makes you a force of nature, dealing tons of damage across the room with just a couple of dashes.

The Shuriken build is the easiest way to beat Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate. While you still need to unlock the best Dragon upgrades to improve your combat and survival chances, the grind is relatively low. You can get your Turtle strong enough to beat Shredder in just 6–7 runs by focusing on your Shurikens.

The footage below shows how a Shuriken build makes quick work of Shredder. Watch his health bar melt during his second phase.
