1977 Godzilla Shogun Warriors Toho

1977 was a strange year for Godzilla. It was the year that Cozzilla came out, which many people consider the worst Godzilla movie ever made. It was also the same year that Mattel decided to release a Shogun Warriors series of toys featuring the big lizard itself.
Looking at the toy, it makes you think of the classic bulky and bulgy Godzilla but with a bit of a goofy grin. Who could be scared of this little guy? It’s a fairly popular toy that you can find floating around various marketplaces and would make a solid addition to any collection.

Godzilla 1954 – Gigantic Series

If you’re going to get a Godzilla toy, it should have the weight and presence of Godzilla. Of course, not all of us have extra space to store human-sized models, so we have to make do with hefty figures and statues. This 1954 model includes an older version of Godzilla with bright eyes and angry eyebrows, but still an intimidating form.
Just by looking at this toy, it’s almost like you can feel the roughness and all the details of the ridges and spines. Still, you’ll have to resist playing with it so that it can stand proud for as long as possible.

The film industry has been on sort of kick recently by bringing back King Kong and then making him face off against what may be his greatest rival, Godzilla. The latest in the series is Godzilla x King Kong: The New Empire, where the two seem to be working together, but it’s more fun to imagine them fighting.
You can see just how epic and destructive this conflict can be by looking at this broad diorama. The two are standing their ground across a vast city that, against all odds, seems to still be standing. Though it’s a newer toy than the rest in the list, its value can’t be denied considering how much work went into it.

There have been multiple versions of Godzilla over the years and there have even been completely separate monsters that have the Godzilla name, such as MechaGodzilla and Space Godzilla. However, base Godzilla achieved a new and powerful form in the film Godzilla Vs. Destroyah.

In 2016, we got to see a new kind of Godzilla with different origins. It went through several stages of evolution before turning into a towering purple monster with flower-like jaws. It’s a distinct and odd appearance for Godzilla, but it’s what makes this toy so appealing.

You don’t have to look very hard or very far if you want examples of cute Godzilla. He’s been reimagined in so many ways, some of which you wouldn’t mind hugging if you’re feeling down. This was the avenue taken by Deathcat Toys in 1954 when they tried their hand at capturing Godzilla’s form.
It’s a light purple and squat toy that looks like it could squeak if squeezed too hard. It looks similar to all those Lucky Cat statues you see waving at you from various restaurant windows, but you can’t deny that it’s Godzilla in a way you’ve never seen him, with a price to enforce that fact.
