The roadmap for AMD’s upcoming products in the mobile segment was recently leaked, and it showed some interesting developments, including Ryzen APU refreshes, Strix Halo series, and Radeon 8000S series integrated graphics. AMD has been working on the new APUs for a while now, and it is targeting Apple’s M3 Pro and M3 Max chips, in terms of performance. As of now, there is not a lot of official information on these developments from AMD, but the leaker has a proven track record with AMD leaks.

AMD Ryzen AI MAX 300 Series APUs Leaked Specifications
The leak comes from the Golden Pig Upgrade Pack via Weibo and shows that AMD will introduce two new APU families: Krackan Point, under the Ryzen AI 300 series, and a Hawk Point rebrand, under the Ryzen 200 series. The Krackan Point APUs have been mentioned in the past and are said to feature eight cores and 16 threads in a 4x Zen 5 + 4x Zen 5C configuration, with up to eight RDNA 3.5 compute units (CUs).
The Hawk Point may come with 8x Zen 4 cores, 16 threads, and up to 12 RDNA 3 compute units. These will be the more entry-level offerings compared to the Krackan and Strix Point APUs. They also lack the AI branding, which suggests these will not have the same AI capabilities of the Ryzen 300 series APUs. They will also not be Copilot+ certified due to the lower 16 TOPS AI NPU.
Speaking of Strix Point, the upcoming lineup for enthusiast platforms includes Strix Halo APUs that are said to come with up to 16 Zen 5 cores and 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units, making them the premium offering for gaming, content creation, and workstations. There are four APUs listed under the Strix Halo nomenclature: Ryzen AI Max 380, Ryzen AI Max 385, Ryzen AI Max 390, and the Ryzen AI Max+ 395. They all use Zen 5 architecture for the CPU and RDNA 3.5 for the integrated GPU. The specifications are as follows:

The leak also shows the graphics branding for the iGPUs present in these Strix Halo APUs, and they follow the Radeon 8000S series, not to be mistaken by the upcoming discreet Radeon 8000 series desktop GPUs. The Radeon 8060S comes with 40 CUs, while the Radeon 8050S comes with 32 CUs. There is another iGPU model that is present with the entry-level Ryzen AI Max 380 APU, and it is said to come with 16 CUs, but its branding is unclear at this point.
It should be noted that AMD has not shared any official information on these upcoming APUs, but the leak suggests that the company is planning for a busy couple of years. It should also be noted that the leaker has shared credible information in the past, so take this with a grain of salt. Regardless, we should see decent performance improvements in the next generation of gaming laptops and gaming handhelds.
As for the Radeon 8000 series desktop GPUs, the company is expected to add at least four new GPUs with RDNA 4 graphics architecture.
