Legacy Trailer Rumored For Holidays

Legacy Trailer Rumored For Holidays

Since James Gunn announced Superman: Legacy, there’s been a ton of excitement around the upcoming movie. Then it was announced that Superman: Legacy is hitting theaters next summer and the excitement only ramped up. Now it’s all about waiting and hoping that the first trailer for the next iteration of the Man of Steel is coming soon.

Rumors are heating up around the internet that the next trailer will be coming sometime in December. It may be at the beginning of the month, or it could be a special little holiday treat stuffed into NBA fans’ stockings. But the consistent message is that DCU fans should be plenty excited because a trailer is on the way sooner rather than later.

ComicBookMovie is claiming there are two periods of time in December that make the most sense for the trailer to hit the web. The first possibility is when Warner Bros. Discovery, Games, and Pictures will have a presence at this year’s CCXP in São Paulo. The event runs from December 5 to December 8 and would certainly offer an opportunity to drop a teaser or a trailer. However, CBM claims its sources have promised that the teaser will be held until Christmas Day. It will be here that the first look at the heroes and villains for Superman: Legacy will be shown, most likely at a commercial break for one of the NBA games played on December 25.

The site has even gone so far as to make a guess at what games the video will hit. The guess is that it will most likely arrive during either the Lakers vs. Warriors at 8 PM ET or the Nuggets vs. Suns at 10 PM ET. It certainly could come earlier in the day, but it makes sense to be at night, when more people will be watching TV and winding down their holiday festivities.

For his part, Gunn has certainly dropped some hints that the teaser is right around the corner. He’s often talked about how he’s worked on this first look and how close it is to being done. There’s also plenty of info that’s dropped at D23 Brazil, which is likely why the rumors are so insistent that the first look at Superman: Legacy will arrive during CCXP.

The idea of giving everyone a Christmas present in the form of seeing David Corenswet streak across the sky wearing that red and blue suit with the big S across his chest. It feels like with all the hints and teases that Gunn has been dropping on social it makes sense to show the movie off before the end of the year. With Superman: Legacy set to hit theaters in July of 2025, it would also make sense to start showing off what people can expect to see, just as the calendar moves closer to the release month. There is also the possibility that Gunn could jump the line and debut the teaser around Thanksgiving, though most rumbling on the internet feels that’s too early.
