Who is The Replacer in Call of Duty?

The Replacer, portrayed by actor Peter Stormare, is a character featured in live-action marketing campaigns for Black Ops titles. In these ads, The Replacer takes over various jobs to let people focus on playing the latest Black Ops release. Since his debut in Black Ops 2, The Replacer has appeared in campaigns for Black Ops 3, Black Ops 4, and Black Ops 6. He was even a playable Operator in Black Ops 4’s Blackout battle royale mode as part of a Black Market bundle.

In Black Ops 6’s campaign, Stormare’s Replacer character appears in numerous roles, including a U.S. Election Moderator, firefighter, ESPN and political analyst, Sky Sports News reporter, and even as participants in various shows like Jeopardy. The Replacer also hilariously “filled in” for real-life figures such as WNBA All-Star Angel Reese, rapper Fat Joe, NBA All-Star Anthony Edwards, popular French rapper JUL, Arizona Cardinals’ Quarterback Kyler Murray, and professional boxer Canelo’s trainer. Additionally, localized versions of The Replacer were introduced for marketing in Australia and Japan, with Sophie Monk and Wataru Ichinose playing the role in their respective regions.

This extensive and diverse portrayal continues to make The Replacer an iconic part of Black Ops marketing.
