To very few people’s surprise, there will be a Fortnite x Marvel Rivals crossover soon. Fortnite is often working with other video games, even those that operate in the same space it does. They have added collaborations with more than a few big video game brands, but Marvel Rivals is a brand-new one. The game isn’t even out yet, but Epic Games is already securing a partnership. While the collab has also not come out yet, we do know a lot about what it’s going to entail.
What the Fortnite x Marvel Rivals Crossover Will Be
Since Marvel Rivals is a game that exists in the shooter/battle royale/action genre that Fortnite, Valorant, Overwatch, and more populated, it was unclear if the crossover would be in one game or the other. For example, some Fortnite x Rocket League crossovers have been in Rocket League and not Fortnite, or vice versa.
Based on a leak from HYPEX, we know that this particular collab will be in the battle royale from Epic Games. The leaker indicated that this likely means that there will be skins. Since Epic has a tremendous and longstanding relationship with Marvel, this is not a surprise. There may be Rivals-inspired designs for existing characters like Spider-Man, Hulk, and others.
Additionally, the crossover won’t be exclusive to just Marvel Rivals. There are other Marvel games that will be involved, including SNAP, Puzzle Quest, and Future Fight. Currently, the game is set to release on December 6. It is unclear exactly when the crossover will go live.
Marvel has been a longtime collaborator with Epic Games. It was one of their first big crossovers, opening up the doors for what Fortnite has been able to accomplish now, when crossovers with people like Ice Spice and Eminem can happen. While they’re still benefiting from the Rivals partnership, they are seemingly repaying the favor to the brand as it tries to get a new game going.
