Sony launched the new era of PlayStation Plus in June 2022, combining the previous version with PS Now. Although the latter subscription service was around for a long time, PS Now struggled to get over its early negative reputation, so a revamp was needed to wipe the slate clean.
PS Plus is split into three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. Essential unlocks PlayStation’s online features along with providing a couple of free monthly games. Along with Essential’s offerings, Extra grants access to hundreds of PS5 and PS4 games; meanwhile, Premium extends the lineup to include older consoles. Each month, Sony adds a bunch of new PS Plus games to each tier, including first-party exclusives, third-party juggernauts, and indie darlings. Some months are better than others, but they all tend to include a couple of standouts. What are all the monthly games that have been added to PS Plus?
Updated November 14, 2024 by Mark Sammut: The PS Plus Extra and Premium games for November 2024 have been revealed. Consequently, both of those sections have been updated.

Best Games On PlayStation Plus Extra & Premium
PS Plus Extra and Premium have some of the greatest PlayStation games from across the console brand’s history, and here are the best of the best.
Free Games PS Plus Essential: November 2024
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged (PS5/PS4), Ghostwire: Tokyo (PS5), & Death Note Killer Within (PS5/PS4)

The November 2024 PS Plus Essential lineup will likely not go down as an all-time great, but its games are still exciting in their own right. While most months have a marquee title that sits above the other two, November is a bit of an outlier as all three games are roughly of the same level, all the while catering to wildly different demographics and audiences. Even if it might not have that “huge” title, the lineup is arguably well-rounded, offering a single-player adventure, a racer with both solo and multiplayer, and a new PvP Day One project.
Ghostwire: Tokyo drops players in Japan’s capital, albeit a version stripped of people and home to youkai. While not exactly horror, the game takes some ideas from the genre and offers an atmospheric setting that balances open-world-style areas with occasional linear sections. The first-person combat is not extremely deep, but it is stylish and quite fun. Ghostwire: Tokyo has been relatively accessible over the last year, including a stint as part of PS Plus Extra, so it is not that exciting of a pick.
Roughly a year following its debut, H ot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged is sprinting its way to PS Plus, hopefully satisfying racing fans with a preference for arcade goodness. Licensed games used to have a well-earned negative reputation, but that does not reflect the state of most modern releases. Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 is a very competent racer with top-notch visuals, solid controls, and a huge selection of vehicles. It should be fun for both adults and kids.
Finally, there is Death Note Killer Within, a Day One PS Plus Essential arrival that is also a console exclusive. Beloved as the manga and anime are, a new Death Note game was probably not on a lot of people’s radars, and it will be interesting to see if Bandai Namco’s project finds an audience. Considering this is a social deduction game that challenges up to 10 players to find who has the Death Note, Killer Within needs to foster a community pretty quickly or risk fading into obscurity.

Best Single-Player PS5 Games, Ranked
The best single-player games on the PlayStation 5 are typically narrative-driven affairs, built around compelling characters and fantastic storylines.
- 1-Month Price: $14.99
- 3-Month Price : $39.99
- 12-Month Price: $134.99
PS Plus Extra is the first tier that includes a catalog featuring hundreds of games. Extra focuses exclusively on PS5 and PS4 titles, with each month expanding the existing library with roughly 10 to 20 new additions. Unlike Essential, PS Plus Extra’s games are available indefinitely, although some could be removed after spending a few months on the service.
November 2024’s PS Plus Extra lineup is arguably among the most complete in the service’s history, offering AAA titles and smaller but notable releases. At face value, the biggest addition is GTA 5, one of the most popular games of all time. However, Rockstar’s game was on PS Plus for a few months not that long ago, making this re-release a bit less exciting. Still, it will almost definitely get a lot of downloads.

GTA 5: Best Ways To Make Money In The Story Mode
The best way to make money in Grand Theft Auto 5’s Story Mode comes in more than a few adrenaline-fueled ways.
Otherwise, the month’s headline act is Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Techland’s parkour-driven zombie game that is generally well-regarded. While perhaps not as universally beloved as its predecessor, Dying Light 2 is nevertheless a blast to play, with great free-flowing movement, intense encounters, and pretty impressive visuals. The story and characters are nothing to write home about, but they are not the selling point either.
Chivalry 2 and Like a Dragon: Ishin should also not be ignored as they are both fantastic in their own right. The latter is a Yakuza spin-off set during the 19th century, so any prior knowledge of Sega’s franchise is not required. Anyone interested in a multiplayer medieval bloodbath will want to check out Chivalry 2.

Best PS5 Games On PlayStation Plus Extra & Premium
Sony’s PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers have hundreds of titles, including some of the best PlayStation 5 games.
All Classic Games That Were Added To PS Plus Premium
Current Month: November 2024 PS Plus Premium (Starting From November 19)
- 1-Month Price: $17.99/month
- 3-Month Price : $49.99
- 12-Month Price: $159.99
PS Plus Premium includes everything available on Sony’s service. Along with Essential and Extra’s games and benefits, this tier includes a classic catalog of PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSP games, along with some PS4 remasters. Premium’s monthly additions have been inconsistent so far, and it is not unusual for a month to go by with barely any classic additions to the tier.
Although most lineups contain only a handful of classics, PS Plus Premium has been steadily enhancing its old-school library, particularly when it comes to PSP and PS1 releases. The games might not all be bona fide masterpieces, but the selection covers both well-known and obscure properties. Starting from June 2024, Sony has begun to add PS VR2 games to PS Plus Premium.
November 2024’s Premium games are both impressive and exciting, with all five games being pretty sought-after titles. Synapse might only be available to PS VR2 users, but it is a fantastic and satisfying showcasing of that technology. As long as someone has the necessary hardware, this game should be their top priority. With Legacy of Kain set to receive a remaster compilation in December 2024, the Blood Omen games are logical additions to PS Plus. While slightly dated in places, they are still classics with great storytelling and clever mechanics.
Finally, Resistance and its sequel are coming to PS Plus, which seems long overdue. Insomniac’s FPS series was a staple of the PS3, producing three great games throughout the console’s lifespan. Unfortunately, Premium subscribers can only stream PS3 titles, so performance will vary from player to player.
