After you visit Arlathan Forest for the first time in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you get several opportunities to return and explore the area. During these visits, you can help out the local Veil Jumpers by completing sidequests and selling them valuables.
One such sidequest is “Loyal Friends,” which becomes available as you collect the last two party members in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and after you complete Harding’s companion quest “An Unfamiliar Sense.” Several Veil Jumpers have gone missing, and Veil Jumper Sloan wants to know what happened to them.

The high dragons of Dragon Age: The Veilguard can be quite difficult to take down. For those struggling to beat them, here are some helpful tips.
Where to Find Taynore and Gus in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
“Loyal Friends” reuses the area you explored during “An Unfamiliar Sense,” but you can’t use the same route to reach it. If you try, you’ll discover a giant Blight boil blocking the path you opened using Harding’s Stone Song.
Instead, you’ll need to make your way around from the east, from the Tattered Bridge. If you haven’t found the fast-travel beacon on the east end of the bridge, head north from the beach and then turn west to go up a curved staircase. Turn north and continue up the ruined walkway, and eventually, you’ll find the beacon. Go west towards the Tattered Bridge, but take the ladder down instead.
From here, you can see a Blighted area to the north and to the south. The south area is too far down to reach, so go around the cliff to the north area.
If you didn’t break through the wall from the other side earlier, this path is unavailable. However, a new way in has opened up: from the Tattered Bridge beacon, go north and take the ladder down. Head south to find a doorway that was blocked by a barrier before. Inside is a new way into the area, and a Fen’Harel Altar. Destroy the boil at the far end of the passage to continue.
Regardless of the path you chose, straight ahead is a large, glowing Blight boil. Destroy it to find a Veil Jumper tent with a document that explains how two of them discovered a Blighted artifact. You can then climb up the central pillar in this area to destroy a second boil (which hides the body of Oros), and that activates a third boil on the southern wall. Blowing up all three will clear the way to the southern area. If you took the bridge entrance to this area, now is a good time to activate the Fen’Harel Altar. The statuette you need to find is on the upper level of the north area, close to Oros’ body.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard comes with seven romances for Rook to experience, but not all of them are equally quite as engaging.
How to Beat Taynore
Sadly, Taynore is Blighted beyond recovery by the time you find him. Walk around the south area for a while, and he’ll rise up out of one of the Blight pools and attack. He attacks with ranged bursts and lines, has a barrier, and is resistant to necrotic while being vulnerable to fire.
Once Taynore goes down, you can pick up a weapon from his body. You then need to search the area for the last Veil Jumper, Gus. To find him, go around to the north side of the central pillar. You’ll find a nug and an investigation point.
To complete the quest, teleport back to the Veil Jumper base. East of the beacon is a table where you can place a bag, and a cage where you can place the nug. Rook will then explain what happened to Sloan, and this side quest will end. Your rewards include a Nug Carving (a valuable) and +100 Veil Jumpers Strength.
