World of Warcraft has officially revealed Patch 11.1, Undermined, which will take players to the subterranean Goblin capital city of Undermine. The first major content update for World of Warcraft: The War Within brings a new dungeon, delves, raid, and a dynamic, customizable ground mount to the game early next year.

Blizzard just wrapped up its inaugural Warcraft Direct, where it revealed tons of new information about the games in the franchise. For WoW, this included an announcement for World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic and even a teaser for player housing coming in Midnight.

World of Warcraft has been using World Quests for a bit now, but the recent iteration of them really needs to be shaken up once Midnight launches.

However, one of the most important reveals pertained to World of Warcraft: The War Within’s first major content update. World of Warcraft revealed Patch 11.1, fittingly titled Undermined, will be located in the underground Goblin capital city of Undermine. Planned for release in early 2025, this patch will add two new delves, one new dungeon, and the eight-boss Liberation of Undermine raid, which has players battle their way across the city and into the Gellagio, an extravagant palace belonging to Gallywix, the final boss of the instance.

World of Warcraft Patch 11.1 – Undermined Features

  • Located in Undermine, the sprawling subterranean city of the Goblins.
  • Challenge two new delves, one new dungeon, and the eight-boss Liberation of Undermine raid, with Gallywix as the final boss.
  • Unlock D.R.I.V.E., a customizable car mount with dynamic ground movement mechanics.

What’s more, Patch 11.1 introduces World of Warcraft’s very first dynamic ground mount. Like the Delver’s Dirigible, Algarian Stormrider, and Dragonriding mounts, the D.R.I.V.E. is fully-customizable. That said, unlike its predecessors, this hot rod is a ground mount whose customizations appear to give it unique stats and abilities to adjust its speed, grip, acceleration, and more. The D.R.I.V.E. will only be usable in Undermine for the time being, though if it is as popular as Dragonriding was, it could expand beyond the zone in future updates as World of Warcraft did with Skyriding.

Undermine is not located on Khaz Algar, but Patch 11.1 is still a direct continuation of the story of The War Within. Titan ruins overrun with Black Blood can be seen in the promotional screenshots, suggesting Gallywix may be Xal’atath’s next pawn, now that Queen Ansurek has fallen in WoW: The War Within‘s first raid. Either way, fans can expect the patch to further explore Goblin culture in greater depth than ever before, and will even be able to ally themselves with the four major cartels: the Bilgewater, Blackwater, Steemwheedle, and Venture Company.

Ahead of 11.1, World of Warcraft is also releasing Patch 11.0.7, The Siren Isle, on December 17. This smaller content update brings players to the eponymous island, acting as a narrative bridge between The War Within and Undermined, and bringing the mysterious Haranir, Orweyna, back into the spotlight in this next chapter of the Worldsoul Saga.
